2024 Author: Richard Flannagan | [email protected]. Last modified: 2023-12-15 23:55
Boris Moiseev - an extravagant dancer, choreographer and singer who ascended to the top of the national Olympus three decades ago turned 66 in March this year. No matter what he did in his life, there were always far fewer people who believed in him than those who tried to throw a stone at him. But, the artist stubbornly, with all his might, swam against the current and still achieved his goal. And now, having survived a difficult stroke, he was reborn from the ashes like a Phoenix and continues to amaze and shock fans of his work.
The singer, as it turned out, cannot live outside of creativity. So, more recently, the king of outrageous Boris Moiseev, after suffering a stroke in 2010, again shocked the public by taking part in a project where he completely departed from his cult image. The audience could see his incredible reincarnation in the video for the song "Give me a reason to stay", in which the singer starred with Kristina Zbigniewska. This is a video clip about the metamorphosis of mutual reproaches, passionate love and hate.
In this project, Boris Mikhailovich radically changed his image beyond recognition: the artist appeared in the form of a brutal macho man with a stylish snow-white beard and mustache in a strict black suit. Not only the outer shell has changed, but also the inner one: a stern, calm and pensive look, serious eyes, and along with this passion and hatred, which absolutely does not fit with the artist's usual image.
The viewer was able to fully appreciate the transformation of the shocking kind and vulnerable "golden boy" into a brutal man. And, as the artist himself said about this:
However, no one knows how long he will remain in this image. It is only known that recently the king of outrageousness can rarely be found at social events. He went into the shadows quite consciously: he was tired of unnecessary fuss. However, it is also known that he became a rather devout man, which he often says to reporters now:
And not so long ago, Boris Mikhailovich again surprised everyone, radically changing his role. Now he can often be seen not on stage, but at the ticket office of his old friend Nadezhda Babkina's theater. Moiseev told reporters about what made him change his place of service:
By the way, the appearance of a star cashier at the ticket office caused a lot of excitement. Seeing the artist at the box office, the audience could not believe their eyes. Many people now came to look at Boris Mikhailovich - from this and the sale of tickets increased significantly.
Experiments are experiments, and the stage still beckons the artist. True, the star now performs only at closed corporate parties, performing from five to ten songs. Moiseev is now trying to dose the load, because at one time he gave up to 25 concerts a month, which, of course, could not but affect the singer's health.
I would like to note that in recent years, the headlines of articles on the Internet and on the pages of the yellow press are full of various unconfirmed facts. Sometimes they even write that the king of the outrageous domestic show business has died, - this is how the artist comments on many different rumors about himself lately.
After an attack of illness, Boris Mikhailovich literally had to learn to live anew: not only to walk and talk, but also to live without parties in nightclubs, which he loved so much, without alcohol, cigarettes and endless rehearsals. An old friend, whom he was going to marry back in 2010, helps him to keep track of his health. The wedding has not yet been played, but American Adele Todd is still present in the singer's life.
By the way, Moiseev will soon move to America and open an art school for children there. He now has apartments in Moscow, Bulgaria and Latvia. According to the artist, there is also money to buy an apartment in America. Moiseev, as an honored artist, receives a pension from the state of 30 thousand rubles, as well as royalties and income from corporate concerts.
Let's remember how it all began
Dancer, actor, choreographer, pop singer, Honored Artist of the Russian Federation (2006) Boris Moiseev was born on March 4, 1954 in the Belarusian city of Mogilev. The circumstance of his birth can hardly be called happy: Boris Moiseev was born in the Mogilev prison, where his mother, a political prisoner Genya Borisovna Moiseeva (Moises), a Jew, was serving time. As a child, my mother sometimes dressed up Borya in dresses. After two older sons, she dreamed of a daughter, but it did not happen. Little Bori had blond curly hair, blue eyes - he looked very much like a girl. He was affectionate and most beloved.
When Boris grew up, it was his mother who became his best friend: "" - this is how Boris Mikhailovich now recalls her with trepidation and tenderness.
During his school years, Borya was engaged in an amateur circle at the local House of Culture. Peers did not understand the strange passion for dancing, teased and mocked. The boy grieved, but he endured all the bullying and did not give up dancing. And after school he went to Minsk to enter the choreographic school.
The classical dance that was taught at the school did not quite correspond to the character of the young talent. He was joking, did not listen to the teachers. Because of the desire to stand out, Moiseev constantly had problems. Therefore, having closed for himself all the opportunities for work in the capital of Belarus, our hero had to go to Kharkov (Ukraine) and dance at the local opera and ballet theater, where he very soon rose to the rank of choreographer-director. But even here Boris got bored …
At that time in the USSR there was only one place that attracted a young man - the first in the Union night club "Orbita", located in the Lithuanian city of Kaunas. An irrepressible love for shocking and experimentation made Boris head there.
In Kaunas, Moiseyev became a real star, showing himself to be a bright, talented and somewhat peculiar artist. Already at that time, he incredibly shocked the serious Soviet public and always said what he thought. At night he danced in "Orbit", and in the evenings he took part in productions of the Kaunas Musical Theater - strength and energy were in abundance. From the dizzying success on stage and in the club, Boris literally flew. It was there, in Kaunas, that Moiseev in 1978 created the legendary Expression trio, thanks to which he achieved real popularity in the future.
When their performance was seen by the prima donna of the Soviet stage, she immediately invited "Expression" to perform in her show. Alla, as always, was not mistaken. Ten years of successful performances with Pugacheva - and Moiseev felt that he could now give independent concerts. Thanks to her support, in 1987 Boris reached a completely new level. His performances were no longer limited to expressive dances.
Boris tried to sing himself, put on a show with disguises, surprised the audience with new finds. Songs performed by him, combined with bright costumes, allowed him to earn the attention and love of the public. By the way, long before Lady Gaga appeared, Boris in a suit with feathers was taken to the hall in a coffin. No forbidden tricks existed for him even in those years. He tried to implement all his even crazy ideas on stage, which shocked the domestic audience, dividing it into two camps - "for" and "against".
A year later, "Expression", led by a shocking soloist-vocalist, went on a tour of Italy, France and America, giving performances in nightclubs. The trio worked for some time in a TV show on the Italian TV channel "Rai Due". Then Boris Moiseev was offered the position of choreographer and production director of the municipal theater of the city of New Orleans. His work was welcomed, he was applauded at the best venues in the USA and Europe.
In 1991 "Expression" triumphantly returned to Russia, but as it turned out, it was much more difficult to win conservative Russian audiences than foreign audiences. Nevertheless, Moiseev achieved this as well. However, Boris made him really talk about himself as an independent singer in the mid-90s. His hits "The Child of Vice", "Tango Cocaine", "Deaf Love" were no less scandalous and popular than his dances.
Over the years of a long creative career, he collaborated not only with Alla Pugacheva, he worked with the Boney M group, French performer Nilda Fernandez, sang in a duet with Lyudmila Gurchenko, Laima Vaikule and many others. Moiseev's compositions have repeatedly received music awards "Song of the Year" and "Golden Gramophone". And in 2006, Moiseev received the title "Honored Artist of Russia".
P. S
And, finally, about a sensitive topic that worried and continues to excite the public throughout the years of the singer's creative career. Many remember how in the 2000s Boris Moiseev was one of the first Russian singers to come out, which completely shocked the audience. Since then, Moiseev was considered the first Russian performer who was not afraid to openly talk about his unconventional orientation. The apotheosis of shocking at that time was the composition "Blue Moon", which the singer recorded in a duet with Nikolai Trubach.
And after many years, he nevertheless made a confession - this was done for the sake of PR:
Only in 2010, in an interview, Boris Mikhailovich said that all these years he had lied about his orientation, creating a certain image for himself in order to achieve fame. In fact, he was even going to marry an American girlfriend. But the disease confused all the cards and forced him to take care of his health. In one of his last interviews, he said that most of all he regrets that he did not become a father because of his crazy pace of life.
It seems that many will be interested in one of the last videos for the song "Give me a reason to stay" with the participation of Boris Moiseev and Kristina Zbigniewskaya, where the singer radically changed his image.
How and how the stars of show business shocked the audience in the 90s, read in our publication: Shura in a coat, "naked" overalls "Nanais" and other strange outfits of domestic stars from the 1990s.

What King Louis XIII really was, and why he does not look like the movie hero Tabakov
The idea of Ludovik the Just is formed by many, if not from the Soviet film about the Musketeers with the not very young Tabakov, then at least from the book that formed the basis of the film. But both there and there the image of the king gives very little idea of how he looked, behaved in life, what he was interested in and from what one of the most famous (thanks to Dumas) French kings suffered
