Michael Todd was the third of eight husbands and the only one with whom Elizabeth Taylor did not divorce. Their relationship was like a storm of passions, a hurricane of feelings and emotions. They made up as violently as they quarreled, but they never made an attempt to part. It seemed that Elizabeth had found someone who was able to cope with her violent temper. But the short separation turned into eternity.
Loneliness in the crowd
Elizabeth Taylor was only 24 years old, and she felt like an ancient old woman. Behind her there were already two marriages that could not make her happy.
In the summer of 1956, the actress stood on the deck of Michael Todd's yacht and was exhausted from loneliness, self-pity and the realization of the prospect of a new divorce, already the second in her life. She sought sympathy, and then, bursting into tears, ran away.
Michael Todd at first perceived this beautiful girl as another capricious young lady, from among those for whom he did not feel any sympathy. When Todd, a promising producer, almost an Oscar winner, was retold her words, he suddenly felt that his heart sank with pity. There was even no one to take care of this sweet girl with extraordinary eyes.
Life is like a holiday
Saturday has since become the day of their acquaintance, which Michael Todd celebrated by showering his Elizabeth with luxurious gifts. She was amazing, and he could not deny himself the pleasure of pampering her and surrounding her with his care.
They did not show their own sensuality, they simply could not hide it. And they didn’t care what others thought of them. Liz and Michael just enjoyed each other's company without wasting a minute.
When reporters asked Todd if he and Liz would soon formalize their relationship, he replied, either jokingly or seriously, that Elizabeth had not yet proposed to him.
In December, while returning from Nassau on Lord Beaverbrook's yacht, Elizabeth Taylor was seriously injured after falling backwards from a ladder. In a New York hospital, where Todd immediately sent her, it turned out that Elizabeth Taylor had a dislocation of the vertebrae and the situation was quite serious.
Michael himself rented a room next to Liz for himself and did not leave his post, day or night. He only instructed his lawyers to find out how the actress can speed up the receipt of a divorce.
He made daily press releases about her health. And he hid only one detail. He did not tell anyone that he and Liz were expecting a baby.
Love and passion
She received a divorce shortly after being discharged from the hospital, and the very next day, February 2, 1957, Elizabeth Taylor was married to Michael Todd. They were both happy and determined to keep their feelings for life.
On August 6, the couple had a daughter, Elizabeth Frances, weighing only five pounds. The newly-made father immediately presented the baby with a golden hairbrush as a gift, complaining that her mother did not allow her daughter to be pampered too much.
There have always been many photos of Michael and Liz kissing in the press. Sometimes it didn't look quite decent, as in the case of their kiss through the Prime Minister, who was sitting between them. The newspapers accused the newlyweds of cheap kissing, but the two of them didn't care.
When Michael Todd was awarded the Oscar, photographers could not take a picture of this frantic couple, because instead of a face, only the back of the head of a kissing spouse got into the frame. However, they again did not care at all. They were ready to demonstrate their feelings, not paying attention to anyone.
However, when this couple sorted out the relationship, there was no less passion. They shouted at each other, showed indecent gestures and tried in every possible way to prick each other more painfully. It seemed that they were about to run to file for divorce. But it was not so: it turns out that such violent quarrels only brought a new stream into their family life and refreshed their relationship.
Michael had a huge impact on the actress. In his hands, the absurd, capricious, intractable Elizabeth Taylor became soft and pliable. If he asked her to star in a film, she agreed. Writers, directors, producers, who wanted to get Elizabeth in their film, began negotiations with Michael.
Do not part with your loved ones …
On March 24, 1958, Michael Todd flew to a reception in his honor on the occasion of awarding him the title of Showman of the Year. His own plane hit the storm front and crashed. None of the crew and passengers survived. Elizabeth stayed at home that day due to illness.
It was impossible to look at the actress at the funeral. There was not a shadow of a doubt that she was deeply suffering. She screamed in despair of her love, but Michael could no longer answer her. Yes, she got married several times after. But at the end of her life she admitted that she loved Michael Todd more than anyone else.
Who knows, if not for the death of Michael Todd, Elizabeth Taylor might not have entered

The stars of European and American cinema all over the world are considered universally recognized standards of beauty and style, but in Soviet cinema there were many actresses who were in no way inferior to their Western counterparts and made a splash at international festivals. Why Nathan Fillion is called the "hitman of TV series" and the main gentleman of Hollywood
Those who are not yet familiar with the roles of Nathan Fillion and have not fallen under the power of his charm can only be envied - they will get great pleasure from watching films and TV series with his participation. He manages to immediately win over the viewer, despite the fact that he is somehow not very similar to the hero in the classical sense. Moreover, the actor received the nickname "the hitman of the series" - it just so happened that many of the projects were closed after Fillion joined them - which, however, was not
