Applicants for the prestigious award performed two arias from foreign and Russian operas, as well as a romance. A total of 16 people were selected for the final round from the total number of applicants. The selection of the best was carried out by a professional jury headed by Askar Abdrazakov, soloist of the Mariinsky Theater. In total, 31 contestants initially took part in the competition. Representatives of the following countries were able to enter the final: Spain, Russia, Uzbekistan, Georgia, Bulgaria, Mongolia and Kazakhstan.

The final part of the International Vocal Competition is to be held in Ufa on September 24 in the evening. Participants of the competition who managed to pass the first round and enter the final part will have to perform on stage with the orchestra of the Bashkir Opera and Ballet Theater. This orchestra will be led by Artem Makarov, the chief conductor. On September 25, it is planned to hold an opera festival, which will be held under the name "Shalyapin evenings in Ufa". The winners of the International Vocalists Competition will take part in this festival.

This time, the selection of the best during the competition was carried out by Askar Abdrazakov, who is a two-time winner of the prestigious Grammy award in the field of music. He headed the competition jury, which also included Larisa Gergieva, artistic director of the Academy of Young Opera Singers at the Mariinsky Theater; singer Elena Makarov, director of the Elena Obraztsova International Academy of Music.

On the afternoon of September 24, members of the jury held free master classes for students and teachers in the F. Shalyapin Concert Hall. Gabala shared his great experience with all those who came, who took over as executive director at the International Music Festival. Sabina Asadova, Honored Artist of Azerbaijan, Zhupar Gabdullin, Honored Worker of Kazakhstan, who performed at many national and international competitions, was invited to show the master classes.
