Have you ever been to the clouds? Here are the visitors Cloud Cities exhibitionscreated by the artist Tomas Saracenowill be able to confidently answer "Yes" to this question. After all, the very name of this exhibition will lift us above the ground, take us to the clouds. In the good sense of these words, of course.
We on the site Kulturologia. Ru have already told you about examples of creativity inspired by geodesic domes. For example, we talked about prefabricated domed dwellings from Danish architects or the artist Dik Termes, who lives and works in four geodesic domes. Geodesic domes also left their serious imprint on the work of Thomas Saracino.
In general, Saracino is a professional architect who for a long time built geodesic domes for various scientific and technical purposes. But gradually Thomas realized that these structures could be used much more widely than they are used now. So he started experimenting with geodesic domes, using them as a basis for his creativity.
And the Cloud Cities exhibition, which is now taking place at the Hamburger Bahnof Berlin's museum of modern art, is Thomas Saracino's "creative report" on the work done.
This exhibition consists of twenty balls and domes of different sizes, which are interconnected in various ways, which symbolizes the water cycle, and everything else, in nature. Each of these objects contains some element that can be found in the biosphere. In some of them small plants grow, in others - insects live, in the third - water is in an airtight state. There are balls inside which people can go. There are balls that people can enter.
Here are the last two types of balloons and are the most popular at the Cloud Cities exhibition. A person who finds himself inside the sphere and at its top, as it were, finds himself in a completely different world, on a cloud, in its very middle or at its very top. Incredible sensations! Agree, not every day we manage to visit heaven!
