During filming comedy "Chasing Two Hares" it never occurred to the director or the actors how overwhelming the popularity of the film would be among viewers. The actors who performed the main roles fell in love with the multimillion-dollar audience. But this glory played a fatal role in fate actress Margarita Krinitsina, brilliantly embodying the image of Pronya Prokopovna.
In the process of working on the picture, everyone was not laughing - every day director Viktor Ivanov began by arranging the dispersal of the entire film crew, so everyone took the work very seriously, and the situation was tense to the limit. The director was overly demanding and emotional, which is why he often had conflicts with the actors. In a fit of anger, he could even throw a firecracker at someone. Margarita Krinitsina often cried during filming, as the young actress got the most from the director.
Another actress, Maya Bulgakova, was invited to the role of Prony Prokopovna, but on the day of the screen test she did not appear at the appointed time. In order not to stop the process, the director asked the actress who he met in the corridor of the Film Studio to play along with Proni's parents in the scene. A. Dovzhenko. Margarita Krinitsyna coped with the task so brilliantly that as a result she was approved for the main role. There is another version: the actress was simply imposed on the director, since her husband was the main screenwriter of the Film Studio, and therefore Ivanov did not spare her during the filming.
In fact, Margarita Krinitsyna was an attractive 30-year-old woman, but she looked terrifying in makeup. In order to disfigure the actress as much as possible, her eyebrows were bleached, plugs were stuck in her nose, her hair was twisted into small nails and the tooth was sealed so that it looked like a knocked out one. Every day it took three hours to make up. The actress's friends said: "It is a great creative feat to become a ugly young woman." After watching the film, Krinitsyna's daughter said: "What are you scary, mommy!"
In the 1960s. the comedy was watched by 20 million viewers, but the real fame came to the director and actors much later. Margarita Krinitsyna said that she woke up famous not the day after the premiere, but 40 years later. Obviously, at the end of the twentieth century. the plot of the comedy has become even more topical and relevant.
After this film, Margarita Krinitsyna starred in episodic roles in the films "Born by the Revolution", "Wedding in Robinovka", "Green Van", "Gypsy", "A Lonely Woman Wants to Meet". But for the audience, she remained Pronya Prokopovna forever. The directors also did not see her in other characters and did not invite her to the main roles. The same thing happened in the theater - only a comedian was seen in her. So Margarita Krinitsyna became a hostage of her most successful and successful work. There were about 70 films in her filmography, but she became an actress in one role.
She auditioned for roles in the films White Bird with a Black Mark and Girls, but approved other actresses. Due to failures in her film career, Krinitsyna even wanted to commit suicide. Once she tried to poison herself with acetone, but her husband who had returned home earlier saved her, another time she wanted to open her veins, but her daughter stopped her.
Recently, Margarita Krinitsina was rarely remembered at all. The last surge of interest in the film and the actors took place in the late 1990s, when a monument was erected in Kiev to Golokhvastov and Prona Prokopovna, where the film was filmed.
In 1996, Margarita Krinitsina suffered two strokes and temporarily lost her speech. And the next year, her husband died, which finally broke her. After another stroke, the actress was confined to a wheelchair. She passed away on October 10, 2005 in Kiev and was buried at the Baikovo cemetery.
