In order not to stop the process, the director asked the actress who he met in the corridor of the Film Studio to play along with Proni's parents in the scene. A. Dovzhenko. Margarita Krinitsyna coped with the task so brilliantly that as a result she was approved for the main role. There is another version: the actress was simply imposed on the director, since her husband was the main screenwriter of the Film Studio, and therefore Ivanov did not spare her during the filming.

In fact, Margarita Krinitsyna was an attractive 30-year-old woman, but she looked terrifying in makeup. In order to disfigure the actress as much as possible, her eyebrows were bleached, plugs were stuck in her nose, her hair was twisted into small nails and the tooth was sealed so that it looked like a knocked out one. Every day it took three hours to make up. The actress's friends said: "It is a great creative feat to become a ugly young woman." After watching the film, Krinitsyna's daughter said: "What are you scary, mommy!"

Margarita Krinitsyna said that she woke up famous not the day after the premiere, but 40 years later.
