February 8 marks 68 years of a wonderful theater and film actress, People's Artist of Russia Irina Muravyova … She played about 90 roles in films and television plays, but the most famous and popularly loved and to this day remain roles in movie hits. "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears", "Carnival" and "The Most Charming and Attractive" … Surprisingly, the actress herself does not rate these images too highly.
As a child, she dreamed of being a teacher, but at the age of 15 she set herself the goal of becoming an artist and after school began to storm all the capital's theater schools. As in the movie Carnival, these attempts were unsuccessful. A year later, she tried again and again failed the competition. Then Irina entered the studio at the Central Children's Theater - there was less competition, and only Muscovites were accepted.
In 1970 Muravyova joined the troupe of the Central Children's Theater. She dreamed of the role of a romantic heroine, and boys had to play. But her personal life was more successful than her professional life: in 1973, the actress married the director of this theater, Leonid Eidlin. Irina Muravyova never hid the fact that her family was always in the foreground and is proud that her two sons were not deprived of maternal attention and care, as often happens in acting families. She and her husband have been together for over 40 years, which is also a rarity in the theatrical world.
The filmmakers did not immediately notice her. She starred in several television plays before she got noticed. This happened after she starred in the film "Purely English Murder" (1974). After 3 years, she moved to the theater. Mossovet and in parallel with work she studied at GITIS.
Real success came to her after filming the film "Moscow Does Not Believe in Tears." When the actress read the script, she reacted to it with great doubts - the provincial Lyudmila herself, in which she was to be reincarnated, was very different from her. The actress is still upset when she is associated with the on-screen heroine, because she considers her an uncouth rude.
Years later, Muravyova admits: “No, I really like the film. It's just that the moment I saw him for the first time, it seemed to me that it was terrible. Everything that was disgusting to me in life, everything came out on the screen; my heroine turned out to be annoying, vulgar. I played a nasty, disgusting woman, how can you like her? And then they told me that this role is good, so I believed it!"
The script of the film "Carnival" and the proposed role of a provincial simpleton did not inspire her either. The actress wondered why the directors saw her in this particular role: “I was born in Moscow, I’m a stay-at-home, I didn’t go anywhere, I didn’t know the province”. Doubts were also aroused by the moment that a schoolgirl was to play, and Muravyova at that time was 32 years old. Nevertheless, she agreed to shoot and even learned to roller skate for this role.
Although both films were incredibly popular and became the leaders of the film distribution, and in 1982 Irina Muravyova was recognized as the best actress of the year by the magazine "Soviet Screen", she herself was not happy with these successes. After all, after that, the ampoule of a lively provincial simpleton was assigned to her. She was expecting serious dramatic roles, and she was again offered to play an ugly, idiot - in the film "The Most Charming and Attractive". Therefore, she immediately refused.
This role was written specifically for Muravyov, the director, along with the entire film crew, besieged the actress, and the fortress fell. The image of Nadia Klyueva was her next victory. True, Muravyova was embarrassed by the title of the film - after all, she did not consider herself “the most charming and attractive”. But the audience did not agree with her.
In the 1990s. the actress continued to act, although it was already a completely different cinema. “I have several roles for which I am ashamed. The difficult financial situation forced him to film. I never allowed myself to do this, but in the early 90s there was just a disaster: no money, no work in the theater,”Muravyova admits.
The actress does not like to give interviews, perhaps because she has to answer questions over and over again about 3 films that made her hostage to these images. “Everyone loves not me, but my heroines. And I am not at all like them. In life I am shy, serious, quiet, calm. But the audience loves her anyone and is happy with any of her reincarnations. “Moscow does not believe in tears: the main characters of the film then and now
