Scott Musgrove depicts original fantasy animals in his paintings. True, the author himself would certainly argue with the word “fantastic”, because the artist insists that they are all real, and not so long ago there were times when they roamed the wild expanses of North America.
The author began his career by writing humorous books and drawing illustrations for newspaper and magazine articles, but after a while he began to draw pictures. Strange animals began to appear in the works of Scott Musgrove after his trip to Sumatra. The artist tells how one night he encountered some strange and even mystical animal. Not knowing the local language, Scott portrayed this monster on paper and showed it to the locals, but only achieved what scared the children.
As mentioned above, the author assures that all the characters in his paintings are not fictional, but actually existed. For example, one of his collections "The Late Fauna of Early North America", according to Scott, depicts creatures that inhabited North America … not many millions of years ago, but only at the end of the 19th century! Each of the heroes of Musgrove's paintings has its own name: Shaggy Desert Llama, Hunched Pony, Shod Glamorous Cat …
Interestingly, Scott talks about his love for animals, while adding that he is allergic to most of the real-life species. Maybe that's why he creates his fantastic heroes - to make up for the lack of communication with their earthly brethren.
The painted world of Scott Musgrove turned out to be so popular that the author continued his work in sculpture. In addition, paintings from the "The Late Fauna of Early North America" series were released as a separate limited edition album. The author currently lives in Seattle, Washington.

Fantastic Zoo by Scott Musgrove
Alas, not everyone can boast that there is a zoo in their city, even if this city is a large industrial or cultural center. Well, it happens sometimes … It's a shame, whatever one may say. I don’t know if there is a zoo in Seattle, where the artist Scott Musgrove lives and works, but that there is an unusual, fantastic zoo, I’m more than sure
