For creative people there are no boundaries and rules, there are no stereotypes and restrictions, there is only their own vision of the world and the desire to create. Take the artist Samantha Zaza. We are all accustomed to perceiving a dove as a bird of peace, but she took and turned everything upside down, creating a series of images where these birds are presented dressed in military uniform.
The Coup series is a collection of images made with colored pencils. Instead of generals and marshals, pigeons are dressed in ceremonial military uniforms, and it seems that the birds are insanely proud of their important solemn appearance. "Doves with a Napoleonic complex," the pictures are jokingly called on the Internet.
Birds and military uniforms - why did these objects turn out to be so attractive to Samantha Zaza? The artist herself gives the answer to the first question: “When I was little, I wanted to become either Sir Edmund Hillary or a bird. In those moments when I did not climb trees or play with my mother’s belts, I drew. whatever - on desks at school, on my left hand, on wooden slats under the bed … I graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a bachelor's degree in illustration. And suddenly, finishing the design of an advertising project in San Francisco, I realized: the theme of birds is never me will not leave.
We figured out a little about the birds: they come from the artist's childhood. But the second question is more complicated. Why pigeons absolutely had to be drawn in clothes, and even in a military one - Samantha does not cover this. All that remains is to connect your imagination and think out the author's motives on your own. In the end, that's what it is and a work of art: to make the viewer think, and not just look at a beautiful picture.
Samantha Zaza is a resident of San Francisco. However, not so long ago, the artist became seriously interested in Turkey, so she moved to Istanbul, where she works as an illustrator.

The theme of the war became one of the central themes in the work of the famous director Pyotr Todorovsky, and this was logical - after all, he himself went through the war. His front-line everyday life later helped him achieve maximum authenticity and penetration both as an actor ("It was May") and as a director ("Loyalty", "Anchor, still anchor!", "Riorita"). And one of his most famous films - "A War-Field Romance" - appeared thanks to a real story from his life

Viewers are accustomed to seeing them on screens in the images of brilliant film stars, films with their participation are well known to millions of viewers, but they performed their most important roles behind the scenes. However, without trying to denigrate the Soviet regime, we will try to figure out what the party leaders were guided by when they made such fateful decisions. And how they solved the issue of deportation to Ev
