Bright umbrellas, a light bulb, a hammer, a fence … All these objects have in common no more than a crow and a desk. But if you imagine them in the form of multi-colored metal frames and place them in the park of the New Roche Court Art Center in Wiltshire, England, you get an open-air exhibition of modern sculpture by Michael Craig-Martin. Why multiply entities if the silhouette of a thing is enough to recognize it?
Irish sculptor Michael Craig-Martin was born in Dublin, attended Yale University and became a conceptualist. His most famous creation is a sculpture called "Oak". The work consists of a glass of water on a shelf and a text explaining that it is actually an oak tree. An ingenious decision, although, in general, after Kozma Prutkov it is difficult to surprise the viewer with the words "Oak" on the shelf with the glass. Don't believe your eyes, that's all.
And the meaning of the glass "oak" is that art is becoming more and more conventional, so that the viewer can no longer afford to rely only on his own experience and ignore comments on the works of artists and sculptors. The latter also turn into writers who convey to the public the meaning of what they have created with the help of words. If the meanings are not embedded in the sculpture, but are reflected only in a piece of paper with a description, wouldn't it be better to do without stone, wood, glass at all?
There are no comment boards next to Michael Craig-Martin's umbrellas and lamps. This means that we can safely believe that in front of us are really umbrellas and light bulbs, although they have lost weight. These are not things - they are just outlines, outlines. They are transparent and permeable. Modern sculptures by the Irish author postulate a philosophical view of things: they should not obscure the world, and a person, even looking at objects, sees through them, because he is thinking about something more important.
In addition, in the modern world, objects are gradually losing their materiality. Works of art are digitized, virtual panoramas of cities become available. As you read, the pages rustle less and less, and the buttons click more and more. So the sculptures, obeying the same pattern, “melt”, exposing the metal frame.
The exhibition of contemporary sculpture by Michael Craig-Martin will run until September this year.

Frida Kahlo is one of the first names that come to mind when it comes to women who changed the history of visual arts. The fearless surrealist has acquired an almost mythical status. At times, the amazing story of her life even overshadows the glory of her paintings, although, of course, they cannot be separated

Contemporary art from Konstantin Zolotarev. Contemporary Christian art or icon painting style
The icon painting style created for the depiction of saints and Christ is aimed at displaying a different reality. Therefore, in the icon, the portrait resemblance of a saint to a person who actually lived once is not in principle, since it reflects a transformed person who is in the upper world. But after all, the saints once lived on earth, they were like us, they ate and drank and had practically the same problems as modern man
