The icon painting style created to depict the saints and Christ is aimed at displaying a different reality. Therefore, in the icon, the portrait resemblance of a saint to a person who actually lived once is not in principle, since it reflects a transformed person who is in the upper world. But the saints once lived on earth, were like us, ate and drank and had practically the same problems as modern man.
The title image is the painting "Behold, I stand at the door" - Christ came to these bald guys in caps too. And this is not far from the Gospel image of Christ, whose disciples were ordinary fishermen. Konstantin Zolotarev skillfully uses elements of the iconographic style in his paintings. Consciously or not, the image of God is revealed in man through his creativity.
Even portraying a prison inmate or city gopniks, Constantine does not stigmatize them, but seems to say that there is something divine in these people, that they are not lost people, and they are at arm's length from holiness.
A series of works, suffered through the experiences of the "sister" of Serbia, tells about the horrors of the war, about the pain of the loss of relatives. Another war is taking place not somewhere far away, but before our eyes.
The peculiar style of painting, which is difficult to characterize with any existing concept, clearly stands out against the background of the postmodern anarchism of contemporary art.
The author is periodically exhibited in Moscow. Several of Konstantin's works are now on display at the Place of Action club.
