From what other Legoland, those who not only read Tolkien's "The Lord of the Rings" trilogy, watched films, but also tried on elven chain mail, will rightly be outraged. Everyone knows that the Dark Tower of Sauron called Barad-dûr is located in Mordor, near the volcano Orodruin, in the fire of which the Ring of Omnipotence was destroyed. But let's not go into memories of such a distant past - let's remember what happened very recently. And recently, a fan of Tolkien's creativity, Kevin Walter, built a replica of Barad-Dur with Lego bricks for the festival Brickworld 2011 … The famous fortress, invented by Tolkien, according to his own records, was about 200 meters high. The tower, built by Kevin Walter, is much inferior in size to its prototype, being only 175 cm "tall", but the builder himself is only 11 cm taller than his creation.
To build this giant lego, the enthusiast needed 50,000 cubes and many cans of beer, as well as the support of friends. In particular, those who are just as well versed in the architecture and structure of the wonderful world that Tolkien invented. If you consider Barad-Dur from Lego in detail, you can see that the author did not miss a single nuance, even the smallest, not to mention such an iconic part of the fortress as the All-Seeing Eye of Sauron.
As already mentioned, Kevin Walter demonstrated his sculpture Barad-dûr at Brickworld 2011. You can see his creation in detail on the author's personal page.
