As you know, the Stockholm metro is considered one of the most beautiful in the world, but the most creative one can rightfully be called Paris Metropolitan. Thanks to a creative project by a French photographer Janol Apin from now on, the townspeople will hardly be able to go down into the dungeon without a smile. "Métropolisson" is a series of black-and-white photographs that play up the funny names of the Parisian subway stations.
Absurdity and pun - these are the two pillars on which the work of Zhanol Apen rests. Having rethought the usual names of the stations, the photographer selected the necessary associations and (in accordance with them) created a whole thematic collection of images. In total, the collection contains about a hundred funny frames.
Of course, not all the subtleties of French humor are clear to us, but international names will clearly make our readers smile. The logic of Zhanol Apen is simple and clear: if the station is Argentina, then you should dance Argentine tango there, and if the Royal Palace, then do not be surprised if a court page suddenly comes out to meet you.
At one of the stations you can find an Egyptian priestess, at the other - a Roman in a toga, at the third, and at all - a member of the Templar Order. Russians were also pleased with one of the installations: Stalingrad is represented as a city of military glory.
Despite the fact that the cycle of photographs was created by Janolem Apen in 1993, it still does not lose its relevance, attracting the attention of not only the Parisians themselves, but also numerous guests of the city.
