Art that borders on magic, a reality that can easily be mistaken for a mirage, illusion, optical illusion - this is the effect that the artist's masterpieces have on an unprepared and inexperienced viewer. Cornelia Konrads … Her installations adorn city parks and squares in Germany and each time surprise passers-by, not only visitors, but also locals. The artist works mainly outdoors, since all her works are intended for a mass audience. Not everyone can afford to go to museums and galleries of modern art, so if Mohammed does not go to the mountain, then the mountain will come to Mohammed. So Cornelia Konradz creates her sculptures and installations in nature, harmoniously fitting them into the surrounding landscape.
A bench in the form of a huge slingshot, doors to nowhere, created from branches, leaves and snowballs - the artist's installations resemble experiments. It would seem, well, what else can you surprise a modern person with? But she succeeds. And best of all is the illusion of weightlessness, when heavy, bulky objects seem to float in the air by themselves.
Cornelia Konradz works primarily in the genre of land art. You can see her work on the personal Internet site.
