"Maddie on Things" is an adorable and never-ending series of photographs of proud acrobatic dog owner Theron Humphrey. The more than two-year project focuses on Theron's photogenic coonhound (or English raccoon hound) named Maddy, which has a wonderful ability to balance on almost any surface.
Traveling through the expanses of her native country with her master, Maddy found a foothold in 50 states of America.
In 2007, Theron defended his master's thesis in photography. He worked in a commercial photography studio for several years, but one morning in 2011, he woke up, had breakfast, and went on a long journey. Theron decided that his calling was to tell people stories. So he started the photography project "This Wild Idea", in which he traveled around the United States, telling the story of a person's life through photography every day.
During this tour of the country, Humphrey launched an additional project focused on his faithful companion Maddy, climbing a variety of sites in each state. Thus began "an incredibly serious project about dogs and physics", which received the playful title "Maddy on Things."
A year later, the project "This Wild Idea" came to an end, but, fortunately for his loyal fans, Theron simply is not able to keep Maddy out of focus of his lens. She continues to enjoy new adventures, and we - how touching she looks, perched on the lid of a fire hydrant, squeezed between the shelves of a huge bookcase, or curled up under a fluffy blanket.
One of the "themed" episodes of the series, the creative duo dedicated to the holidays and everything related to them, including - a personal collection of Maddie costumes for Halloween, a delicious Thanksgiving turkey dinner, and a few useful ideas for celebrating Christmas.
As real celebrities should, Madi and Theron sometimes become guest stars of other serious creative projects. One of them is a series of photographs by Zach Rose "Petheadz".
