But the production of Macbeth, seen at the age of 16 in the theater, canceled out all the teenager's plans for the future associated with military aviation. Timothy was literally on stage. Since then, he visited the theater, using every opportunity, and soon became completely convinced that it was not enough for him to watch performances. He passionately wanted to be on stage, and looking into the audience, to pronounce piercing monologues, from which the audience would well have tears in their eyes.

After leaving school, he firmly decided to get the profession of an actor and even found support from his father and his relatives. But my mother and all her relatives were extremely worried about Timothy's choice, because none of them considered acting as a serious profession. He was advised to go to university at the biochemistry department or immediately go to serve in the Royal Air Force.

But Dalton went straight to the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. True, he soon left his studies for the sake of filming in films and the opportunity to go on the theater stage. During his studies, he began to participate in productions of the Birmingham Repertory Theater, then began acting in films, and soon starred in the film "The Lion in Winter", playing Philip II Augustus. He seemed to have been created in order to play hereditary aristocrats, it was with these roles that he began his artistic career.

Timothy Dalton felt the taste of real fame after filming the TV series "Jane Eyre", and later consolidated his success, starring in two James Bond films. Millions of spectators will forever remember the actor in the image of Edward Fairfax Rochester. By the way, there was one among them that, years later, would break his heart.

Without a stamp in the passport

Even now, agreeing to an interview, Timothy Dalton warns in advance: he will not talk about his personal life. There were many novels in his life, which he skillfully hid, and earned a reputation from the public as a loner, unable to sacrifice his own freedom for the sake of a woman. Only two of his women are known for certain. The first was Vanessa Redgrave, whose relationship lasted more than 10 years.

But a separate place in the life of the actor was taken by the pianist Oksana Grigorieva, who gave Dalton the most precious thing in his life - his son Alexander. They met in 1995 during one of the film festivals, at which Oksana was present as a translator for Nikita Mikhalkov. At that time, he was already a world star, and by the time he met the beautiful pianist he had managed to celebrate his 49th birthday.

27-year-old Oksana Grigorieva already had two marriages behind her shoulders, studying at the Royal College of Music and the desire to finally find her true love. It seemed that in the person of Timothy Dalton, she met the man of her dreams: handsome, successful, restrained and, importantly, very wealthy. Soon the lovers began to live together, and two years after they met, Oksana Grigorieva gave birth to his son Alexander.

Timothy Dalton, according to his friends, was very fond of his Russian beauty and was ready to carry her in his arms. You can not even talk about his feelings towards his son, the actor has become a truly wonderful father. Timothy was in no hurry to lead his narrowed down the aisle, and ten years after the birth of their son, Dalton and Grigoriev parted.

Sometimes he arranges such a luxury for himself and simply cuts off any connection with the outside world. He still gladly accepts invitations from directors about filming in films and television series, with constant trepidation he enters the theater stage and takes part in dubbing films and audiobooks.

When journalists ask him about what he would like to change in his career, Timothy Dalton quotes the famous theatrical actor John Barrymore: "A man will not grow old until regrets replace his dreams." And the actor is clearly not going to grow old.
