They became close when they no longer thought that personal happiness was possible. Valentin Gaft and Olga Ostroumova became the perfect couple, having gone through four official divorces for two before. Their wedding took place in a hospital ward without witnesses, and today they remember it as one of the brightest events in their lives. And most importantly, their late love is real.
Valentin Gaft: life to happiness
The first wife of Valentin Gaft was the charming Soviet fashion model Alena Izorgina. The marriage was interesting, but very short-lived. The young wife was very fond of animals. Gaft could walk in wool and feathers and admire his beautiful wife at the same time. Both were too young to appreciate the value of family. Valentin continued to be carried away by women, and Alena, too, was not deprived of the attention of men, and soon met a man who became her second husband.
After a divorce from Alena, a marriage followed with Inna Eliseeva. Valentin Iosifovich, slightly laughs at himself, recalling this period of his life. His second wife had very wealthy parents, dad is a Stalin Prize laureate. Gaft dreamed of having a secluded corner in his dacha where he could write. But in addition to the absurd nature of his wife, the actor also had to face the hostile attitude of her relatives towards him. As a result, even the birth of Olga's daughter did not help to avoid divorce.
For a long time, Valentin Gaft, who, with the light hand of Rolan Bykov, is called a "nervous genius", did not seek to arrange his personal life. There were short-term relationships, but it did not come to a serious relationship. The fruit of one of the fleeting novels was the birth of his son Vadim, whose existence he learned about when the boy was already three years old. The boy's mother told him about her son on the eve of her departure to Brazil. After 46 years, she also wrote to Valentin Iosifovich that Vadim was severely beaten. The actor decided to help his son get to his feet, supporting him as best he could.
Much later in the life of Valentin Gaft, the beautiful Alla, a cellist, appeared. They did not officially sign, but they lived together. For all her beauty and thriftiness, the lady was terribly jealous. Even the bed scenes with Gaft in the films infuriated her. Naturally, Gaft could not live long on the volcano, and this unofficial union collapsed.
Olga Ostroumova: life before happiness
Olga also had two official marriages under her belt. For the first time she got married out of great student love in 1969. Her husband was classmate Boris Annaberdiev, with whom she quickly broke up, falling in love with Mikhail Levitin. He was also married at that time and was in no hurry to divorce his wife. They dated for several years before becoming husband and wife. In 1975, Mikhail Levitin and Olga Ostroumova had a daughter, whom her husband named Olga, and in 1983 the actress gave her son the name Mikhail.
Olga Ostroumova loved her husband and could not even imagine that he was dishonest with her. For 23 years, she did not pay any attention to the rumors about his novels that reached her, to the anonymous letters sent with dirt and threats to their family.
She had more important things to do: she tried to be not only a good wife and mother, but also to provide for their family. Her husband undertook only for projects that were interesting to him, which did not occur often. And all the worries of providing for the family lay on Olga's shoulders, and she enthusiastically took on any work.
The disappointment in love was incredibly bitter. She regarded the revealed betrayal as a betrayal. It was scary to be alone, but the prospect of living a lie seemed even more scary. And Olga filed for divorce, stating the reason for her husband's unbridled love for freedom. After the divorce, the actress seemed to run out of strength. Children helped her to cope with emptiness and disappointment. For their sake, she decided to live and be happy, not paying attention to loneliness.
Olga Ostroumova and Valentin Gaft: late happiness
They already crossed paths on the set of the movie "Garage", but in fact they did not even know each other. Olga was scared of all these eminent actors with whom she had to work, she, together with Igor Kostolevsky, hid from them in a far corner.
But one day she got a call and was offered to take part in a concert in Sokolniki. When Olga found out that Gaft was taking part in this event, she immediately agreed, deciding that such an actor would not participate in a dubious project. Gaft immediately agreed to participate, having learned that Olga Ostroumova would be there.
He already knew that this woman was deeply sympathetic to him. He remembered her from filming, but most of all he touched the television interview of the actress, in which Olga said that she would wait for the one who needed her alone.
After a corporate party at which they both performed, Valentin made an appointment with Olga. At the restaurant, he was so worried that he invited the woman to admire his muscles. Olga was sympathetic to this man with sad eyes. It would seem that everything should have worked out right away, but Gaft suddenly disappeared for four long months. Olga was not particularly sad about this and was even surprised when he called her. I called to say that he could not live without her.
They began to meet, getting to know each other more and more. They signed only a few years later in the hospital ward, where the actor was after a complex operation. Remembering his third marriage, Valentin Iosifovich is still happy like a child. Not a banal registry office and the third boring ceremony in life, but the groom's pajamas and the bride's white robe. After the painting, a miracle really happened: the actor very quickly began to recover, he seemed to be drawn to life.
He made very good friends with Olga's children, sincerely considering them to be relatives. When the actor's own daughter Olga committed suicide, Gaft blamed himself for not noticing, not recognizing the impending disaster, that he devoted little time to his daughter, did not take her away from her mother, who, with hysterics and scandals, drove Olya to suicide. Olya and her children helped him cope with depression, they literally pulled him out of the abyss.
Olga Ostroumova and Valentin Gaft have lived together for over twenty years. Already in adulthood, they learned to be happy, to find compromises in relationships. Olya never ceased to be amazed at some childish spontaneity of her adult husband, and he tirelessly admired his beautiful, open and very wise wife.
Valentin Gaft and Olga Ostroumova did not immediately find their happiness. And so Mikhail Prishvin I met my true love at the end of my life.
