On January 31, the famous actress and director, People's Artist of Russia Vera Glagoleva could have turned 63, but a year and a half ago she passed away. Her sudden premature departure was a shock for many - few knew that she was seriously ill. Many plans remained unfulfilled, and projects were unfinished. What Vera Glagoleva did not have time for, and what she regretted in recent days - further in the review.
She did not have a professional acting education. She got to Mosfilm by accident, for the company with a friend. In the line at the buffet she was noticed by the operator of the film "To the End of the World" and invited to audition. Her film debut took place at the age of 18, and the very first film became fateful for her not only in her creative life, but also in her personal life - from that moment on her film career took off, and on the set Glagoleva met her future husband, director Rodion Nakhapetov. They got married shortly after filming. The couple had two daughters.
Few knew that Vera Glagoleva was a master of sports in archery. She herself said that this hobby in her youth largely shaped her character, made her hardy and purposeful. Many paid attention to the fact that this fragile girl had a very strong character, and in combination with incredible sincerity and touching, this became her main trump card as an actress. In many films, Vera Glagoleva was filmed without makeup - the actress was allergic to it, but her simplicity, spontaneity and naturalness in the frame fascinated the audience. She was never even offered to play negative characters - this did not go well with her appearance. And in adulthood, Vera Glagoleva looked great, and her friends called her "a woman without age."
Rodion Nakhapetov was very jealous of filming his wife with other directors, accompanied her on a film expedition when she starred with Anatoly Efros. Then Glagoleva was so impressed by the famous director that he invited her to his theater, but she was forced to refuse. She later regretted this decision very much, because it was a great chance to start a theatrical career, and she missed this chance. Later Glagoleva admitted: "".
She managed to prove her creative independence from her husband in the film "Marry the Captain", which brought her her first real fame and the title of the best actress of the year. And then, from film to film, she gained more experience, grew up, changed, and less and less wanted to obey her husband in everything. Because of this, a discord occurred in their family life. In the late 1980s. Nakhapetov left for America, while Glagoleva and her children remained in the USSR. There he got another woman, and after 14 years of marriage, one of the most beautiful couples in Soviet cinema broke up.
The actress really wanted to prove - first of all to herself, that she alone would not be lost. This became an incentive to try your hand at another area. So Glagoleva became a director. In the 1990s, when the old cinema was dying, she began making films about the fate of unemployed actors. Broken Light was her directorial debut. And soon she found happiness in her personal life. In 1991, at the Odessa Film Festival, Vera Glagoleva met businessman Kirill Shubsky, who became her second husband and the father of her third daughter.
As a director, Glagoleva managed to shoot 7 full-length films. Her film One War has been featured in several international film festivals and has received several awards, including the Monte Carlo Directing Prize. However, due to constant employment on the set, Glagoleva could not devote much time to her daughters, which, of course, she regretted. But she understood that she could no longer live without her work.
Glagoleva shot her 7th film "Clay Pit" in record time - in just 3 weeks. She was in a hurry, because she already knew that she was seriously ill - she had stomach cancer. Remaining true to herself, Vera Glagoleva devoted her last days to work - she really wanted to complete what she had begun. But this film had to be completed by her colleagues already without her. The last thing she managed to do was attend the wedding of her youngest daughter. A month later, on August 16, 2017, she was gone.
The news of her premature departure came as a shock to many - until recently she did not tell anyone about her illness and in all interviews she assured that she was simply tired on the set of the film. Even the cameraman Alexander Nosovsky, with whom she worked on her last film, "The Clay Pit", was unaware of the impending disaster: "". This film was released only in the fall of 2018 under the title "Not Strangers".
Perhaps Vera Glagoleva did not have time to realize her potential on the theater stage and complete all her film projects, but she managed the main thing - to leave a memory of herself in the hearts of millions of viewers and to continue herself in three daughters.
The news of the death of Vera Glagoleva struck Rodion Nakhapetov - he also did not know about her illness. Still, the director never regretted that in the late 1980s. made this choice: Rodion Nahapetov and Natalia Shlyapnikoff.
