Everyone knows how many poor people in India and in what monstrous conditions they have to live, work and raise their numerous offspring. But at the same time, Hindus know how to have fun and have fun like no other. Every year in India there is the brightest, the most cheerful, the most colorful holiday of spring called Holi (Holy), which is able to raise even the dead and amuse even a person in deep depression. These days, the streets of cities and towns turn into a real rainbow - you will not find so many colorful outfits and smiling faces anywhere else in the world. And everyone strives to sprinkle, pour, coat another with paint of one color or another in order to share with his neighbor the joy of the coming of spring.
Many are so carried away that they are covered with a thick layer of this very paint, and children are especially trying. But parents have nothing to worry about: they say that all these paints are made of medicinal herbs, and it is even useful to sometimes take such "colored" mud baths - for the prevention of colds, and for the general tone it is useful.
During the festival, local markets sell jingle jewelry, whistles, flower and berry necklaces, fluffy skirts and shirts, and bags of colored powders. So, like it or not, but no one will be able to avoid the "colorful" rain, everyone will join the fun, wonderful holiday.

Edward Yakovlevich Vyrzhikovsky - a representative of the Leningrad school of painting, an artist who glorified spring in all
In the old saying that “in Russia, the holy fools are loved”, the holy madmen were gradually replaced by “fools”. However, this is fundamentally wrong. The phenomenon of foolishness, widespread in ancient times in our country, carried an important social and spiritual function. Interestingly, apart from Russia and Byzantium, there are few examples of this kind in history, however, in different cultures there were sometimes shocking marginals who tried to draw attention to social or religious norms, publicly violating them
If in Russia spring comes with the appearance of snowdrops, then in Japan a sign of the onset of warmth is cherry blossom. In early April, the trees are covered with beautiful pink flowers, as if to say to spring: it's time. The most colorful photos of cherry blossoms in 2014 are presented in our review
Holi is considered to be one of the most colorful holidays in India. This is a holiday of spring, filled with the fury of blossoming nature and sunshine. Apparently, it is older than the legends that explain its origin in our days - it contains many elements of primitive orgies in honor of deities and forces of fertility, elements close to the holidays of different peoples of the world
Winter is a great time for creativity, and the Chinese take full advantage of it by organizing the annual Snow and Ice Festival in Harbin. We have collected in one review the most interesting and striking sculptures that were built by snow sculptors last year
