This year, the dates of museum insomnia are May 19 and 20: on the night from Saturday to Sunday, Moscow, following the example of the main European capitals, will again celebrate International Museum Day with night tours, performances, concerts and street flash mobs. The action "Night at the Museum 2012" will be held at the initiative of the Department of Culture of the city of Moscow and will unite more than 170 museums and galleries in the capital. For the first time, the largest federal museums, private exhibition spaces and sites under the jurisdiction of the Department of Culture of the city of Moscow will operate in a single mode - until midnight. This year the Tretyakov Gallery, the Historical Museum, the ARTPLAY Design Center, the WINZAVOD Center for Contemporary Art and many other popular spaces will join the action on general terms. The face of the sixth "Night" will be one of the most popular characters in the history of video art - the fox named Bandit from the video "Night Watch" by artist Francis Alus, the first and last animal who had a chance to spend the night in one of the largest museums in London - the National Portrait Gallery. Follow the fox on the cherished night - Moscow museums will reward the most active "hunters" with bonuses for their love of art.
