Every year in the cultural space of the city, new creative units, institutions, and original places of power appear. This year, one of such places will certainly be the summer music project RAY DAY. By organically combining the idea of a high-quality local European festival of contemporary music and a Sunday picnic, the organizers got what will soon become known to everyone under the name RAY DAY. Considering that the organizer of this event is the Swiss company RAY INTERNATIONAL AG, which has already declared itself at the European GT-2, GT-3 Formula Championship, presenting the Ferrari team to the public, unexpected and pleasant surprises should be expected. It is assumed that events under this name will be held once a month and this series of events will be opened by the Norwegian group Röyksopp, which has never performed in Moscow before. In compiling a list of the 100 greatest bands in the history of modern dance music, British magazine Mixmag placed the Norwegian duo somewhere between Roni Siz and S'Express with the words: "The last thing we expected to hear was such sunny music from cold Norway." In the nineties, the band members, if they were known, it was mainly in a narrow, DJ circle. For example, Thornbjorn Bruntland recorded the finest deep house, which DJ Sanchez loved to play on his Thursdays. But, with the onset of the new millennium, the musicians found the right accents in their music, called themselves "Mushroom-raincoat" (and this is how the word Röyksopp is translated from Norwegian), eventually turning into one of the best bands of our time. Finding the right balance between the melodies of the era of "light music", the barely perceptible flair of jazz and quirky lyrics, they hit the very heart of most listeners, tired of all sorts of concepts and new sounds. To begin with, they conquered the whole world with the most beautiful melody "Eple", then the integral and indivisible, which has already become a classic, album "Melody A. M", which raised them to the ranks of the main groups in the world of dance music. Then, as if proving that the fear of the first album was not about them at all, followed by an even more powerful album "The Understanding", contracts with majors and, quite definitely, worldwide popularity. Surprisingly, Röyksopp has never visited Moscow concert venues, and it seems that the sunny music of these Norwegians is ideal for the start of a new series of events from RAY INTERNATIONAL AG, and will perfectly harmonize with the beautiful summer Moscow (in which there are about the same number of warm days, as well as in native, for Röyksopp, Norway).
