10 best disaster movies that don't bode well for humanity

However, one should not forget about such a very specific genre as disaster films, which attract the attention of the public not only with realistic and large-scale computer graphics, but also with interesting stories that can easily turn into reality with far from a happy ending.

1.28 weeks later, 2007

28 Weeks Later was to be one of the most spectacular disaster films ever. The action of the tape takes place immediately after the events of the first film, where viewers see that a safe zone has been created in London. However, residents find themselves stranded when two brothers and a sister break protocol that allows the rage virus to infiltrate the community.

As the government creates a safe haven in France, there is a sudden sense of doom as several infected zombie creatures are roaming free in the direction of Paris. In fact, this means that the world is in danger of extinction, since the virus is spreading much faster than expected and waiting for a happy ending is useless …

2. Quiet place, 2018

A Quiet Place focuses on a post-apocalyptic world where the Abbott family discovers that the planet is now inhabited by the Dark Angels. Despite the fact that they are completely devoid of sight, these creatures pose a real threat to the world around them and the people in it. Their hearing, smell and touch are sharpened, and this in turn makes them incredibly agile and dangerous creatures that have destroyed most of humanity.

But no matter how the Abbott family tries to resist evil and save the world, their fuse is gradually fading away and the chances of winning so much is not a simple battle, it becomes less and less, rapidly sliding to zero.

3. Impact with the abyss, 1998

The main plot of the film "Impact with the Abyss" revolves around a team of astronauts and scientists sent into space after humanity finally realized that a previously unknown comet was on a course to wipe the planet off the face of the earth. When they try to blow up the comet, there are many catastrophes on Earth, including a tsunami that destroys much of the east coast.

In the end, the team realizes that there is only one way to destroy the comet, and that is to sacrifice oneself for humanity. While the president insists that the country be rebuilt, there is a sense of melancholy and sadness that makes many think seriously.

4. The day after tomorrow, 2004

The Day After Tomorrow is another disaster film dedicated to the catastrophic consequences of climate change. The plot of the picture primarily tells about a group of people who live in New York and find themselves captured by the North American storm. The disaster picks up steam as a tsunami-like storm sweeps through Manhattan, forcing them to seek refuge in the Public Library.

The film "Cloverfield" (Monstro) follows the lives of five New Yorkers who try to flee the city due to a supernatural attack, hiding in a bunker. Throughout the film, the viewer observes a very sad picture - many residents of the city died, falling on the warpath with alien creatures.

Although the military intervenes and destroys Manhattan to try and kill the monster, it turns out that it didn't work. Not only have all the main characters died, but the end credits show that the creature is still alive, which means only one thing - humanity is doomed …

6. Live, 2017

Some disagree that Living is a disaster film. But one has only to think about the end of this film, as you immediately begin to reconsider your opinion.

It is a sci-fi horror film about six astronauts who discover that life exists on Mars. However, the study of the single-celled creature proved to be a fatal mistake when they realized that "Calvin" was the top predator and destroyed every other species on the planet.

Despite the crew trying to prevent Calvin from reaching earth, the alien crashes on the planet. Despite the fact that the ending of this picture is ambiguous, there is speculation that Calvin could have destroyed the human race due to its skills and intelligence, thereby ending Homo sapiens.

7. Team 49: Fire Ladder, 2004

Team 49: Ladder of Fire is an American disaster film that follows the life of a Baltimore firefighter named Jack Morrison.
