“If you don’t cheat, you won’t sell,” says the ancient Gypsy wisdom, which many modern traders of all ages and nationalities use without hesitation. British artist and sculptor Anna Barlow there is no need to deceive. Even though her desserts, prepared with love and inspiration, are very appetizing and beautiful, but, alas, they are completely inedible. Nevertheless, they are incredibly popular with supporters of unusual modern art, despite the fact that the sweet mass of ice cream cannot be licked off a waffle cone, and even a small bite from a muffin cannot be taken off. Anne Barlow's stunningly beautiful desserts - melted ice cream with topping and cherries, cakes with creamy caps, muffins with chocolate and topping sugar - these are meticulously sculpted porcelain sculptures decorated with multicolored glaze. The sculptor was able to achieve incredible realism of sweets thanks to exceptional detailing, and down to the smallest detail, from a porcelain cone to drops of chocolate, from waffle crumbs to chocolate and strawberry sauce.
What kind of muse visited the artist, and where the idea for this collection came from, there is no need to guess. Anna Barlow, a big lover of ice cream, especially on a sultry summer afternoon, was inspired by her favorite delicious dessert and the pleasure with which people use it, with what enthusiasm children lick the sweet cold mass from their fingers, and with what happiness their dirty faces glow when their parents buy them them a second portion for "after dinner" and "if you obey." In addition, every cake and every waffle cone filled with ice cream is a different story. Melted ice cream tells about the hot sun and the bygone summer, a bouquet of waffle cones with colorful toppings is like a sweet "bouquet" replacing flowers, and a cake … it's just a Saturday breakfast with a morning newspaper and delicious coffee.
The gallery of porcelain desserts will make everyone who is not indifferent to sweets to swallow saliva. And their realism - immediately go to the store for a portion of ice cream, vanilla or fruit popsicle. You can see the entire collection on Anna Barlow's website.
