Minimalism is a very interesting trend in contemporary art, when a minimum of funds are used to create a work. This would be perfect for the official publishers of movie posters, because in this case, just one detail can convey the plot of the film as a whole. This idea was developed almost simultaneously by two different designers: one made great posters of the most famous TV series, such as Lost and Dexter, and the other - his favorite films, from "Pulp Fiction" to the cartoon "Valley".
One of these two designers is Brazilian Pedro Vidotto, a very creative art director who is happy to find and develop new design ideas. His work is full in his blog. He made many posters masterpieces of cinema, depicting on each literally one detail that symbolizes the film. For example, in the case of Sherlock Holmes, it is definitely a pipe. On the Fight Club poster, Pedro depicted a bar of soap, which is actually an explosive, and for Pulp Fiction he used the silhouettes of John Travolta, Semuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman.
The designer who has implemented the same idea with the series, Albert Exergian, is the director of an agency named after his last name. The essence of his wonderful TV posters is the same - a small detail, usually some kind of geometric figure symbolizing the series. His work is also available on his blog.
In general, the works of both designers are very similar (Pedro, however, also has a slogan from the film on each poster), which is not surprising, the benefit of such works in the spirit of minimalismthere are many other artists related to cinema and show business - take, for example, the covers of Noma Bar magazines, made with amazing simplicity.
Of course, minimalism is a very controversial phenomenon in art (what is even such stupidity as a one-line novel by a certain Yekaterinburg writer that received an award), but in this case, that is, in the film industry, the idea of such simple symbolic posters with a slogan at the top seems very successful and interesting.

Forest Spirit - Plant Spirit. Reflection of the God of Nature in the works of various authors
In Western furry culture (the art of depicting anthropomorphic animals) I have long observed one interesting tendency - some images created by one author become, as it were, the public domain, they are drawn by many. This could be called fan art, but fan art is usually created based on world famous works, and here they are just separate images created by a talented person and picked up by other talented authors. One object movie: a series of minimalist posters for famous movies
When we are asked to share our impressions of a movie that has long been a favorite, or an exciting novelty in film distribution, we need a huge amount of words, interjections, allegories and comparisons. And some just do not have enough words, and they confine themselves to incoherent exclamations that convey the entire emotional component of the film. The French illustrator Pascal Richon needed even less: in his One object movie art project, he is limited to one
