The creation of optical illusions is a very interesting and popular trend in art recently. Works containing such an illusion always attract increased attention of the audience, and they require a well-developed imagination and a certain skill from the authors themselves. One of these "illusory" sculptures, which appeared in New Zealand, is striking not only in its appearance, but also in size.
The sculpture called "Horizons" is a steel structure located at the top of a hill. Its height is 15 meters, and its length is 36 meters. From a distance, it looks like a huge piece of paper lying on green grass against a blue sky by Neil Dawson. This huge illusion is located in the private art park "The Farm", owned by Alan Gibbs, a New Zealand businessman and patron of the arts.
Neil Dawson was born in Christchurch, New Zealand in 1948. Horizons is not his first work involving optical illusion. Wellington is home to his sculpture "Ferns", which is a metal ball suspended 14 meters above the ground. In clear weather, the cables holding the ball are almost invisible, and it seems that the sculpture is floating in the air.

Optical Illusion Sculptures by Ara Peterson
The stunningly vivid sculptures by the American artist Ara Peterson are like constantly moving turntables, in which colors change each other, as if teasing with the viewer. They are static, and the effect of their movement is an artistic trick, cleverly created by Ara Peterson
