When a few months earlier we talked about the card sculptor Brian Berge (Bryan Berg), many wondered how he had enough endurance and patience to create fragile architectural structures. However, although Brian is a recognized master in this field, he is not going to rest on his laurels: not so long ago, the author again hit the Guinness Book of Records, breaking his own record.

The latest brainchild of Brian Berg was a copy of the Venetian Macau casino hotel. The hotel itself was built by the American corporation Las Vegas Sands on the autonomous territory of Macau, owned by the PRC. Inside the original was a copy, which took 4051 decks of playing cards and 44 days of work to build. For comparison, Brian's last record required only 1,800 decks of cards.

The house of cards, consisting of more than 200 thousand cards (the exact number is 218 792), was made without the help of glue or tape. The cards simply stand on top of each other, and during the work on the project several times there was a threat that the structure would simply crumble in front of everyone.

“It was one of the most ambitious projects I have ever undertaken,” says Brian Berg. The author says that the construction of a house of cards may well be equated with a real architectural project, because, just like in real construction, he had to figure out how to put cards and what support to make so that the building would not collapse.

“I was inspired to create house of cards by my grandfather's love for the game. Perhaps I myself can inspire the visitors of the Venetian Macao to try to build some architectural structures from maps on their own,”says Brian Berg and adds that there is hardly a better place in the world to build the largest house of cards than one of the largest resort hotels.
