In the 1980s. this actress was called a real dream - a cold beauty, arrogant and unattainable, cruel and even cynical, excited the imagination of millions of men. But few viewers knew that in real life Tatyana Parkina, who played the role of Martha in the film “I Can't Say Goodbye,” was not at all like her heroine. A decade later, they forgot about her - the actress suddenly disappeared from the screens. True, for a long time she could not say goodbye to the world of cinema.
Tatyana Parkina was born in 1952 in Riga. From her youth, she had to take care of the material well-being of the family - soon after her birth, her father left them, and her mother, who worked as a kindergarten teacher, could barely make ends meet. And at the age of 14, Tatyana got a job at a textile factory, where she worked on weekends and during vacations.
Since childhood, Parkina dreamed of becoming an artist and performing on stage. She sang well, studied in the theatrical circle of the Riga Carriage Works and became a member of the VIA "Tonika-67". Together with this ensemble, Tatiana toured quite successfully in 1968-1969. After leaving school, she decided to try to enter a theater university and went to Moscow, where on the first attempt she became a student at VGIK. However, due to the lack of a Moscow residence permit after graduation, the girl was not accepted into the staff of the Mosfilm film studio, and she had to return to Riga.
For some time, Tatyana Parkina returned to performing songs, got a job at the Riga Variety and Concert Association and performed as a soloist in the show program. In 1980, the artist came to Moscow again, where she continued to sing. In parallel, she acted in films, however, until 1982, these were episodic, inconspicuous roles.
The turning point in her film career came in 1982, when she was offered one of the main roles in the film I Can't Say Goodbye, which attracted more than 34 million viewers in cinemas. The role of Martha has become her hallmark. Her heroine, a pragmatic beauty, cold and incapable of strong feelings, aroused antipathy in everyone - after all, she left her husband after he became disabled. But the actress herself after this film acquired a whole army of fans.
One of those who could not resist the charms of the blonde beauty was the leading actor Sergei Varchuk. They played spouses and according to the script they had to play in bed scenes. However, they could be called bed only because the heroes were really lying in bed - in fact, everything was very chaste. Nevertheless, the actor, fascinated by his partner, tried to prolong these scenes, strove to hug her under the covers - ostensibly so that the audience would believe in their tender relationship. Varchuk even went for tricks - he gave signs to the operator, who "unexpectedly" discovered a defect in the frame and asked to shoot another take.
But the actress herself was not at all up to romance - she was very worried about these episodes, because shortly before that she got married and came to the shooting with her husband! After the release of the film, there were even more reasons for excitement: men admired her beauty, and women really hated her. As it turned out, during the editing, most of the scenes were cut out in which her heroine Martha was revealed from other sides and did not look so soulless. And in the end, she turned out to be a schematic villain, and not a woman who showed weakness and was afraid of difficulties. And all the audience's sympathy went to her antipode - the sacrificial and selfless Lida Tenyakova, whose role was played by Anastasia Ivanova.
After this work in the 1980s. the actress played several more roles in the films "Applause, Applause", "Cry of the Dolphin", etc., and in the 1990s. disappeared from the screens. In the mid-1980s. Tatyana Parkina continued to sing and toured as part of a pop group in different countries for almost 10 years.
Her film career resumed after a 10-year hiatus in 2000 - after Vladimir Menshov offered the actress a small role in his film "The Envy of the Gods". After that, there were several more films and series, but soon Parkina realized that her viewer had already forgotten about her, and completely different heroines came to replace her on-screen image. In 2006, she played her last role in an episode of The Captain's Children and never returned to the movies.
Today, for the 67-year-old actress, family comes first. Her marriage, concluded in her youth, turned out to be surprisingly strong - this is a rarity in the acting environment. Tatyana Parkina always had many fans, but she, unlike her most famous film heroine Martha, always treasured her family - her husband and daughter. Tatyana Parkina is still happily married, but does not make her personal life public and does not give interviews on this topic.
There are many interesting moments behind the scenes of this film: As a director followed morality on the set of "I Can't Say Goodbye".
