Collaging is easy. At least in kindergarten and elementary school, every child successfully applied applique in fine arts lessons. Contemporary artists, however, have long ago brought this work to a fundamentally new level. Advanced collage - sculpture - the artist has been working successfully for a long time Peter Madden from Auckland. Of course, sculpting is an entirely author's term. There is no other way, because those post-modernist, almost surrealistic collages created by Peter Madden, he forms not just on paper, but encapsulates them in a transparent captivity under a layer of durable plexiglass. Thus, he turns out not just paintings, but installations or even sculptures.
Madden calls himself a sculptor, a postmodern photographer, a mediator between genres, styles and varieties of art. A bit pretentious, but fair. The artist creates his works from numerous clippings borrowed from old encyclopedias, National Geographic magazines and books about flora and fauna. He builds the extracted pictures into geometric shapes, or even places them according to a scenario known only to him, as a result, unusual, interesting, creative works of art are obtained.
In addition to sculpting and plexiglass collages, Peter Madden also creates classical sculptures. You can get acquainted with his work in the Internet gallery.
