Young designer Brian frandsen loves art, creativity and himself very much. And he loves so much that recently in an art project Face to face created a three-dimensional portrait of him … from 250 layers of carpet. This art project was developed by the designer in cooperation with the renowned carpet manufacturer Ege Carpets. The process of creating a three-dimensional portrait, in fact, is not much different from other similar installations, or sculptures, in which the material for creativity is paper, acrylic or wood. The carpeting is laser-cut to the desired shape, after having taken measurements from the model, a pattern is applied, after scanning the photo, and then the layers are folded in layers like a cake. This is how a three-dimensional portrait is "baked".

The Face to Face project is 250 layers, which is 920 sq. meters of carpet, and so far the first and only such experiment of a young designer. The portrait will be presented at the famous I Saloni in Milan at the end of April this year.
