Spatial painting or pictorial installation is a direction in contemporary art, which remains within the framework of painting, but no longer flat, but three-dimensional. The three-dimensional effect is achieved by combining transparent layers, each of which contains a fragment of the image.
Potapov Vladimir depicts people and symbols of the sunken Soviet era, while shifting the layers so as to achieve the maximum distortion of the picture - the effect of decay. By the way, this is the name of his recent solo exhibition "The Moment of Decay". The photo shows the work in two states: assembled and disassembled.
Such installations, like a traditional painting, are placed on the wall on special brackets, but they can also be located in space.
