Shin Jae Won writes about himself on the website: “I am an illustrator named Won who just loves to draw pictures. And all I really want is for them to make people a little bit happier. These images may not be good enough, but they mean a lot to me."

And although Vaughn's illustrations are rather uncomplicated and, probably, devoid of deep meaning, his work still attracts attention. Perhaps because of the perfectly selected bright, but, at the same time, not "flashy" colors; or maybe due to the fact that on a white background these funny animals “Do not get lost”, but the gaze literally stumbles on each of his pictures.

Shin Jae Won not only draws funny animals, he also has serious work (and there are many of them). But he became famous precisely because of his cute watercolor pets: in Korea, postcards with Vaughn's illustrations can be purchased in almost any bookstore, in addition, they produce notebooks and other stationery trivia with his prints.

We have already written about such wonderful illustrators as the Hungarian artist Irisz Agocs (who, by the way, also paints with watercolors) and her “naive” paintings, and about Marijan Ramljak, who creates very delicate drawings for children’s books. Perhaps the works of Shin Jae Won are very close to these authors in spirit: they all want to make adults a little younger and happier. Irisz Agocs said the best about the purpose of her work (and the same can be applied to the other two artists): “I want to tell the adults:” Guys, why take life so seriously? After all, you yourself are depriving yourself of joy.”And I say to the children:“I love you all! I am your friend!"".
