2024 Author: Richard Flannagan | [email protected]. Last modified: 2023-12-15 23:55
In his enchanting, almost immaterial landscapes, the photographer Tim Simmons (Tim Simmons) explores various aspects of the relationship between man and nature. Shot in natural, often ordinary conditions, his images nevertheless have a mysterious and even otherworldly atmosphere.
The mystery of Tim Simmons' extraordinary landscapes lies in the photographer's ability to expose artificial light. In this way, the author creates his own photographic illusions, which sometimes complement natural light, but most often deliberately subvert and violate any sense of visual or organic harmony. Light, which is usually a symbol of security, in Simmons' images becomes something extraterrestrial and therefore alien and incomprehensible.
The author has been experimenting with night photography and lighting for two decades. He often works to order: many clients want to see the mysterious images of Simmons on their advertising prints. In addition, the photographer works on his own projects.
Tim Simmons was born in 1955 and lives and works in London and Norfolk. The author has personal exhibitions in Great Britain, Germany, France, as well as participation in joint projects in Great Britain, Israel, Canada.
