Everyone who has read Gulliver will remember his exciting journey to the country of Lilliputia. But Jonathan Swift never dreamed of what the photographer Brandon Broll was able to see: with the help of more than thirty ultra-powerful microscopes, he captured the smallest details of life around people everywhere. Microcosm Brandon Broll is an amazing, addictive micro-life!
We have already written about such photographers as Bogdan Chesaru, who was able to capture the light's interaction in a soapy film and infection, about Michael Dykstra shooting color splashes and the simply amazing master from Poland Igor Siwanowicz who showed us insect faces … And now another wonderful master has been added to them!
Brandon Broll not only created a series of photographs, but also published a book with them, which can be both an interesting project for photographers and an excellent gift for curious children. By the way, some of the objects have been magnified up to twenty-two million times!
The book review " Microcosm “Made by over thirty microscopists using a variety of powerful microscopes, the book continues its journey through a miniature world showing the most incredible parts of our life in the smallest detail. Readers will be able to see incredible close-ups of objects such as women's tights, the surface of the human tongue and the irresistible patterns of butterfly wings. There is also a rusty nail and a cut-off human hair on a razor."
Here is what the photographer himself, a native of South Africa, Brandon Broll says: "This book will show the reader the beauty of everything that is usually hidden from the naked eye." Most of the images were taken with a scanning electron microscope, and this is the reason this book is amazing.
Light and transmission electron microscopes require thin-cut materials, or objects clearly fixed in front of the camera. In turn, the scanning electron microscope opens a side more familiar to the human eye, a three-dimensional world with external surfaces. The other three departments, "minerals", "technology" and "microorganisms" are more deeply hidden in the thinnest world that exists under our noses. Unfortunately, Brandon Broll does not have a website, but his work (and it seems that the book " Microcosm ») Is available on the Internet.
