The new exhibition of Zachary Walsh is not for nothing called "Greek Street". For his work, which some critics call "paintings of life", the artist drew inspiration from the research of Greek mythology by Robert Graves, as well as from the theatrical productions of the Korn Ferry at the Holland Park Opera.
Although Weshl studied at the Royal College of Art at one time, his work goes beyond academic painting. Folk art, street design, contemporary art - all with an amazing sense of classic norms.
All works by Zachary Walsh are magnificent, executed in rare technique with daring symbolism. On the one hand, the artist's works are characterized by simplicity and conciseness, and on the other hand, he is able to introduce dissonance and aberrations into his works. Drops, spots, strokes - all this is used by the artist to create the shape of the image.
And Zachary Walsh also has a subtle sense of the portrait: he very subtly conveys gestures, facial expressions and posture of a person.
The background in Walsh's work is intended to provide a clear focus on the foreground. Quite often, for the background, the artist uses bold colors, geometric shapes, or very convincingly includes abstractions in it.
Undoubtedly, the ability to convey body movements, the breath of the wind and place accents is not only the acquired skill of Zachary Walsh, but also the innate talent of the artist.
