The American craftswoman creates mosaic pictures from advertising, which she is constantly pleased with her native mailbox. “Our society is simply obsessed with advertising beauty. Because of this, we are bombarded every day with meaningless endless pictures,”says Sandy Schimmel Gold. Bright leaflets in the artist's hands turn into colorful portraits.

Sandhi Schimmel Gold knew how to mix paints even before she learned to write. As a child, she most often sat at home in the evenings and painted. And she sat up to the point that she dropped out of school and left for New York, in order to "hang out" all day in galleries and museums.

Sandy Schimmel Gold began her artistic career with the creation of murals and all kinds of wall painting. Then she took up handicrafts, worked with leather, created fashion accessories. She also worked for the benefit of large design companies, was engaged in the preparation of corporate events and other festive events. Her designs have been featured on the covers of specialized magazines.

Sandy Schimmel Gold loves bright colors and uses them both in painting and in design, and the mosaic paintings of the craftswoman are very colorful. In addition, the artist and designer are synesthetic, that is, she perceives words, sounds, numbers in color. Like Arthur Rimbaud ("A - black, white - E, U - green, O - blue, And - red …") and many others.

Sandy Schimmel Gold studied mosaic art abroad. Now she is successfully applying the skills acquired in a foreign land, because there is always enough bright waste paper for mosaic paintings. Advertising brochures, irrelevant calendars, old postcards, unsuccessful photographs and the like are used. As a whole, these cardboard boxes and pieces of paper are no longer of value or interest. Piece by piece is another matter. You can create an unprecedented "puzzle" from different-sized pieces.

“We don't use any special tools or computer programs,” says Sandy Schimmel Gold. Everything is done by old-fashioned methods - manually: sketching, cutting, selection and arrangement of fragments.
