The metro during rush hours is a dull and sometimes eerie sight. The crowd of sleepy passengers in the morning, and tired, and therefore aggressive and angry, in the evening, does not contribute to the emergence of a good mood in those who slept in the morning and were not tired in the evening. Therefore, the Amsterdam firm Amsterdam Public Transport Company She conceived an unusual art project to turn subway cars into works of art in the hope of making the metro customers happy at least so. At one time, we already wrote about how the subway cars were turned into a real Atlantis by the efforts of the same company and the art studio Million Dollar Design. What you will see today is a continuation of this creative action.
The artists who volunteered turned the old trailers into jungles and gardens, depicted sunrises and sunsets, characters of funny cartoons and TV series in the salons, or even simply decorated the subway cars with bright, sometimes funny comics, pictures and sketches from life.
And the passengers immediately changed their attitude towards the metro. Some say that they are specifically waiting for such a creative train, since such cars cheer up, give positive and good emotions, and instead of getting to work broken or depressed, you come smiling and happy, which cannot but affect the results of work.

Ice trams in St. Petersburg: Public transport 100 years ago on the frozen Neva
At the end of the 19th century, an electric tram was launched in St. Petersburg, but it did not travel on ordinary land, but on ice, on which rails were installed. Thus, the organizers of the route managed to bypass the monopolists who owned horse trams in the city, because formally these companies owned transportation on the city land, and "ice trams" carried passengers along the Neva. Now it is difficult to imagine, but the winters in the city were so long and harsh that this type of transport provided
Atlantis in an old subway car. Art project by Million Dollar Design studio
Recently, Amsterdam has its own Atlantis. It is located, as befits a sunken civilization, deep … but not under water, but in the underground kingdom of the underground. In such an unusual way, the Amsterdam Public Transport Company decided to diversify the interior of one well-worn trailer, turning it either into a huge aquarium, or into the seabed
Unusual public transport: double-decker trams - the symbol of Hong Kong
Public transport, along with famous landmarks, can often be the hallmark of a city. For example, it is difficult to imagine the streets of the Philippines without the brightly colored Jeepney buses or London - without the branded red double-decker buses. Once upon a time in the UK (as well as in New Zealand and Australia), double-decker trams were also popular, however, over time they were decommissioned. But in Hong Kong they can be seen to this day, they have become a real symbol
Bright colors: Jeepney bus - positive public transport from the Philippines
Public transport is often perceived as a sheer punishment by all who are forced to use it regularly. Constant crush, traffic jams, grandmothers with wallets and students with backpacks - stress, and that's all! The complete opposite of our transport is the Philippine Jeepney bus, the passengers of which get a lot of pleasure from their appearance alone. Amazing design makes them a real decoration of city streets
Fun Public Transport: Chicken Buses on Guatemalan Roads
Perhaps, if American school buses were animate creatures, each of them would like to "skate" the deadline as soon as possible and go on a well-deserved rest. And not out of an idle desire to relax, but due to the fact that after honestly worked ten years (or 150,000 miles of run), ordinary-looking yellow buses are being auctioned. Often they are bought by entrepreneurs from Mexico, Guatemala or other Central American countries. In the hands of new owners, buses acquire not only
