Pictures of dots, circles and specks that readers could see on the pages Culturology. Ru, referred to this type of painting as pointillism. And this has nothing to do with those pictures of circles and specks that the artist creates. Matthew Davis from Berlin. The author does not hang labels on his paintings, but believes that they are much more surreal than any others. And in this he is undoubtedly right. Young Berlin artist Matthew Davis is a talented graduate. At one time, he graduated with honors from Camberwell College of Arts, and before that - MA Norwich School of Design and Arts. Matthew Davis's parents, however, wanted to see him as a banker, but, according to the artist, he felt a much greater love for beautiful paintings than for papers, even if these papers are called banknotes. Of course, with age, he realized the full value of such papers, but nevertheless he chose a creative profession.
Matthew Davis is loved and recognized by his amazing paintings made in an extraordinary technique. So, the artist prefers to paint plots not with brush strokes, but with spots and drops of paint dripping onto the canvas. And despite the fact that the method of breaking the whole image into points, and then reproducing it from these very points, cannot be called new, this artist managed to bring here something of his own, new, author's.
So, Davis's paintings are formed from several, sometimes very many layers. First, the author drips onto the paper with paint of one color, allows it to dry, and then applies the next layer on this layer, already with paint of a different color. So the color gamut of the image gradually grows, and the plot also emerges. These and other paintings can be seen on Matthew Davis's personal website.

Surreal painting by Mike Davis
The artist Mike Davis is not one of those whose works evoke an unambiguously positive public opinion.
