Memories … There is no escape from them. How often, as adults, we cannot contain our emotions when we find ourselves in our old room or in the school class. The first "five", the first kiss, the first day at work … The older we get, the more memories. And it is to them that the artist Charles Peterson (Charles Peterson) dedicated a series of paintings "The Memories Collection".
Although Charles Peterson, when creating his paintings, turned primarily to his own memories, his images are close and understandable to everyone. They allow the viewer to return to a happy, carefree childhood, remember the taste of mom's pie, race in the pond, the affectionate voice of his grandmother … To obtain this effect, the artist uses a combination of a bright and clear background with faded figures of people, more like ghosts. People who, perhaps, have been dead for a long time, but who will always live in our memory and hearts.
The Memories Collection contains 60 images. Reproductions of paintings-memories were so popular in society that the American edition of US Art Magazine included the name of Charles in the top ten representatives of the national printing industry.
Charles Peterson, the third son of a Swedish immigrant family, was born and raised in Elgin, Illinois. He was educated at the American Academy of Art, graduating from an educational institution back in 1949. And now, in spite of his advanced age, the artist remains full of energy and enthusiasm: he works almost every day, creating works, which are subsequently gladly acquired by collectors from all over the world.
