These portraits, which belong to the Broken Faces series performed by Japanese author Takahiro Kimura, are called beautiful and at the same time terrible paintings. In which there is a note of philosophy, and now fashionable apocalyptic moods, and even something from the category "The Ministry of Health warned." In fact, the author tried to portray in them a whole range of human emotions that we never experience at the same time. And here's the result.
This unique creative style is the author's know-how of the artist. He began work on it back in the distant 90s, setting himself the goal of displaying on canvas as realistically as possible the moment when the final formation of a holistic visual image of a person takes place. Indeed, every day we experience a whole range of emotions, and they leave their marks, imprints on our faces. And how would it all look if you could put together all these prints, all the "cracks"?
The final visual image can be anything you want. It all depends on the character of a person, on his nature - and those emotions that he experiences most often. Anger or irritation, pity or suffering, pain or joy, longing or boredom - it seems that they come and go, but in fact, they stay with us forever. And reflected in the eyes - in the mirror of the soul. That is why in the paintings of Takahiro Kimura, these mirrors are so huge, so bottomless. Otherwise, they simply cannot accommodate all that is needed …
But since a talented person is talented in everything, painting and Broken Faces are far from the only art project of the artist. So, he worked on illustrations for advertising, painted book covers, designed historical exhibitions of paintings and sculptures. And in 2003, Takahiro Kimura became interested in animation, which includes music, vocals and dance moves. You can get acquainted with the work of the artist on his website.
