Video: Eerie sculptures of hybrid animals. Metamorphosed Animals Project by Enrique Gomez De Molina

Inventing and reproducing new worlds that are inside ours, or even exist outside of time and space, artists and sculptors often inhabit them with outlandish creatures, the likes of which can only be seen in delirium, feverish dreams, or under the influence of potent "substances". Where they come from and where they go is unknown, but in contemporary art strange animals can be seen in the work of Jessica Jocelyn, Steve Bishop or today's publication hero, sculptor and taxidermist Enrique Gomez De Molina … And I very much doubt that most readers will like what they see … Enrique Gomez de Molina is engaged in creating new Frankensteins - but in the form of animals. As a taxidermist, he knows how to handle already inanimate animals and birds, properly process them and turn them into stuffed animals, so that later they can sew parts of their bodies together, and show the world perfectly executed sculptures of creepy hybrids that cannot be called animals … The project is called Metamorphosed Animals.
Despite the disgusting, frightening appearance of some of the exhibits in this collection, one cannot but agree that Enrique knows his business. The hybrids are so skillfully sewn that you can't tell where one animal starts and continues with another. And sometimes it begins to seem that they were all created by nature, and then caught and frozen in order to remain in history, without which we would never know about their existence.
By the way, the external unattractiveness of all these creations does not at all prevent their author from giving them very poetic names, like "Queen of the Desert", "Paradise", "Puppets" and other, no less poetic names. And the work brings not only joy to the sculptor, but also disappointment. As Enrique Gomez de Molina says, he is pleased that there are fantasies, where to roam, and that the more incredible the hybrid sculptures turn out, the more interesting, but at the same time sad, that truly amazing animals disappear from the face of the earth, and soon we will really be able to see them only in photographs and in the form of sculptures …

Pleated in life: eerie sculptures from nylon stockings
Strange, almost creepy nylon sculptures are created by a Dutch artist. With the help of needles and pins, she forms distorted silhouettes, as if covered with wrinkles. Thus, the artist tries to reflect her vision of the cyclical nature of life: a person comes into this world with folds and leaves it with them
Better to hear it a hundred times. Eerie sculptures by Laurent Le Deunff
I warn you right away: it is not recommended to get acquainted with the work of the French artist Laurent Le Deunff for too impressionable and squeamish people, as well as those who are madly in love with animals, and is ready to tear to pieces everyone who shouts at a cheeky yard cat or swings at a heart-rending barking vagrant doggie. No, he does not dissect the carcasses of the unfortunate four-legged - in his sculptures he reproduces a variety of animals, but he does it in a rather exotic format
People and animals, or people-animals. Shocking sculptures by Kate Clark
Healthy as a bull, fat as a hippopotamus, stupid as a ram, dirty as a pig, stubborn as a donkey … as well as possible confirm the fact that we have not gone so far from the animals. At least in habits and behavior. And sometimes in a way of life, it is not for nothing that one who works at night is called an owl, and an early bird a lark … In sculptural installations am
Plastic fantasies: eerie sculptures from former dolls
The astonishing sculptures by Australian sculptor Freya Jobbins are made from plastic dolls that are no longer in use. Arms, legs, torso - all this is assembled anew, but in a completely different order and with an unexpected result. Freya's finished sculptures look at least strange and eerie, but in any case unusual
Photo project "Animalia": animals are not people, and people are not animals
Imagine an empty, empty city where there is not a single person. Empty houses, workplaces and public places, empty streets and parks. There is not a single human soul. No life. Rather, there is no human life, but there is an animal
