The artist Don Simon tried to look a little into the future and imagine how our world will look like if humanity continues to destroy nature and its natural inhabitants. The illustrator shows the damage caused to nature by urban structures created by mankind. But he does this not with the help of shouting slogans and banners, organizing protests, but with the help of artistic attraction of attention to environmental problems.
The illustrations by artist Don Simon, which juxtapose nature and the modern world, make people think about very important environmental issues. Simon uses colored pencils and a surreal style to communicate the conflict between nature and industry. In the paintings, we can see a deer peeking out of a jungle of pipes, monkeys that have settled on a construction site instead of trees, animals from the African savannah wandering through the parking lot, as well as marine life floating in the streets of a sunken city.
Humanity produces, consumes, builds without thinking about the impact this has on the environment. People are deaf to the destruction of the ecosystem, and not only themselves suffer from this, but most of all the various species of flora and fauna, which have to fight for survival in an environment unusual for them.
