As Mendeleev decomposed all known and unknown chemical elements into rows and columns of a table, finding a place for each of them, so designer Kris Staub created a table of elements of modern science fiction in film and television.
Modern science fiction obeys certain laws. But only not the chemical laws, like the elements of the periodic table, but the cinematographic and television laws of the genre. And, if it is possible to structure all known and still unknown chemical elements into a single periodic table, then you can create the same table for Sci-Fi elements. Anyway, that's what designer Chris Staub did.
Chris Staub has arranged the most famous sci-fi heroes, terms, movie names, spaceships, and the most recurring cliches in this genre into various groups, columns and rows, based on a certain logic. If you look closely at this table, you can find a lot of interesting things. Each element of it means something. And they are located in accordance with certain laws and logic. In the table you can see, for example, the elements Tmn, Tmn2, Tmn3 and Ts, corresponding, of course, to four films from the universe of the Terminators.
Two adjacent columns are devoted to Star Wars and Star Trek, two age-old opponents in the science fiction genre. There is a column dedicated to the series of films about "Aliens", there is about time travel. The table also contains examples of chemical equations using the elements of this unusual table. For example: 2OL + Dr = Torchwood (i.e. 2 Outer Limits + Doctor Who = Torchwood) Sci-fi fans will easily recognize every element of this formula. In general, this table can take hours to look at. You can write formulas yourself. The main thing is to be a fan of science fiction.
