Some people like serious paintings, some like funny illustrations, some like portraits, and some like landscapes. Without even wanting to, we are constantly faced with a variety of illustrations: billboards, pictures on the desktop, and just what we see around. But have we ever wondered how these paintings and pictures are created? Of course, artists talk a lot about inspiration, about a creative impulse. But how does this happen in everyday life? Maybe an inspired creator hums when he draws? Or maybe he dances at all? The paintings of the artist Warren Chang open the doors for us to the creative workshop of painters.
Warren Chang was born in 1957 in California, graduated from the Art Center College of Design in 1980, after which he successfully worked as an illustrator for twenty years. Having received no awards in this area, Warren decided to take on more serious creativity: to become a real artist! Starting in the two thousandth year, he began to look for a path to new creative heights.
The artist taught painting for fourteen years, including three years at the famous Pratt Institute in New York. He currently works at the University of the Arts in San Francisco, conducting many seminars with students from other countries who wish to study with the master.
Warren Chang has held numerous solo exhibitions and has published his work in publications such as Artists of America. National Edition”and“International Artist”. He also writes articles for many magazines.
The artist is the owner of many prizes and awards, including awards at the 2003 International Salon (San Antonio, Texas), the International Competition of the Artist magazine (2004, 2nd place), exhibitions of the Society of Illustrators (2004, New York), Art Salon (annually since 2005), Southwest Art of Excellence Award (2008), 11th Annual International Portrait Competition (2009), Butler Institute of American Art, Ohio (2009), etc. In 2009 Chang became a member of the Society of Artists of America and, in 2010, a member of the California Art Club.
Chang works in the style of realism of the nineteenth century, he draws themes for his works in the surrounding reality. In addition to a series of paintings about artists, Warren Chang has many other interesting projects.
