"Flower" parades stride rapidly across the planet, surprising with a variety of shapes, colors and smells! In the previously published floral digest, we have already written about such festivals as Bloemencorso, Jersey Battle of Flowers, Spalding Flower Parade, today we will talk about Italian, Belgian and Spanish carnivals!
The Genzano Infiorata Flower Festival is an amazing event that has been held annually in Rome since 1778. Local artists cover the entire Via Belardi with intricate floral carpets. Typically, they feature religious paintings or geometric shapes, as well as allusions to famous works of art. The theme of the festival is always discussed in advance.
2-3 days before the Genzano Infiorata Flower Festival, more than a million flowers are collected, which will become the material for creating masterpiece carpets! To preserve their freshness, the flowers are kept in caves near Genzano, while the artists are painting on the asphalt a model of the future creation, which will “live” for two days!
The flower carpet is also admired by the Belgians during the flower festival, which takes place here in August! On the main square of Brussels in front of the city hall, a huge carpet of living begonias is laid out, which also will not leave anyone indifferent! Anyone can look at the creation absolutely free of charge, but to appreciate the scale and beauty, you can climb one of the nearby houses for 3 euros, which offers a panoramic view!
The highlight of the Batalla de Flores in the Spanish city of Cantabrian is that there is a real flower shooting here! Along with bright installations, you can see girls with badminton rackets at the festival! The "outfit" of the beauties is not accidental, the locals use flower buds as shuttlecocks!
