Gowri Savoor Is a talented artist from England who creates light and airy sculptures … She managed to achieve such an amazing effect thanks to the use of a specific material - seed.
A series of works by Gauri Savur was named “Seedscapes”, which literally means “Landscapes from Seeds”. For her creative experiments, the artist uses seeds of various plants and fruit seeds (most often apple and pumpkin seeds are used), as well as sunflower seeds. They are located at the ends of long stems, which, like antennas, are attached to a stable base.
The sculptures make an extraordinary impression, as the seeds seem to float in the air. There is a feeling that this is a kind of living organism moving smoothly and measuredly. Gauri Savour creates bizarre geometric shapes, and photographs show how the sculptures cast intriguing shadows on the floor.
The work of Gauri Savur captivates with its sincerity and simplicity, there is a feeling of ephemerality, it seems that these bizarre designs are ready to fly in the wind if left by an open window. The artist herself says that she admires their fragility, because she realizes that each sculpture is inherently short-lived. Of course, the project evokes melancholic feelings, however, at the same time, it also serves as a reminder that every seed will germinate, which means there will be a new life!

Light and airy soap bubbles. Photos by Richard Heeks
I don’t know how anyone, but I associate soap bubbles only with childhood, with exciting fun and one hundred percent positive. It would be so desirable that the transparent balls flying through the air and shimmering with all the colors of the rainbow did not burst, did not disappear, but simply floated in the air, sparkling and shining. And now, looking at the photographs of Richard Heeks, you feel great joy that the artist managed to perpetuate such a fleeting beauty of delicate soap-bubble masterpieces
A feat in the name of science: how scientists at the cost of their lives saved a collection of seeds during the siege
Scientists of the All-Union Institute of Plant Industry (VIR) N.I. Vavilovs performed an outstanding feat during the siege of Leningrad. VIR possessed a huge fund of valuable grain crops and potatoes. To preserve the valuable material that helped restore agriculture after the war, the breeders working at the institute did not eat a single grain, not a single potato tuber. And they themselves were dying of exhaustion, like the rest of the inhabitants of besieged Leningrad

A sea of Chinese porcelain seeds
Do not think that only dishes and small sculptures can be made from porcelain! In China, porcelain is one of the most beloved materials. And the Chinese do not care what to make of it. Even exquisite teapots, even figurines of local deities, even toilets. This is what the Chinese conceptual artist Ai Weiwei tried to show with his installation Sunflower Seeds
Anna Petrova's gentle and airy pastels
Usually, clothes are compared with cream cakes, chocolate eclairs and airy meringues: dresses and hats, blouses and skirts. But such associations also arise when you look at the gentle, light pastels that the young artist Anna Petrova from Nizhnevartovsk draws. These amazing works should not only be looked at, they should be felt, touched
