Viktor Hertz, a young Swedish designer from Uppsala, is known for his love of minimalism and pictograms. One of his projects - original posters for popular films - embodied laconicism and an abyss of wit.
Design is a relatively new hobby of Victor, he entered the profession several years ago. To date, Hertz's skill has reached the highest level, and his icons have become one of the most recognizable in the Internet space.
“Having started working with pictograms, I realized that it was mine. I found the perfect tool, because I like simple graphics - this is the best way to express myself, in my opinion,”says the designer. It is difficult to single out any one project of the master. He is equally good at music posters and a clever game with world-famous logos. A new look at posters for famous films is another original project of the talented Swede.
Like many other young and ambitious designers, Hertz left his permanent job and became a freelancer, completely devoted to creativity. “At first I was hesitant,” the designer admits, “but later I realized that my hobby can really bring a decent income, so why not devote myself entirely to this?”
Looking at Hertz's pictograms and logos, one can hardly believe that the author did not receive a specialized education. “I started by dabbling in Illustrator, trying to come up with something. It seems that these were logos for Swedish brands - I didn't put any messages to humanity in them,”says Hertz.
The designer recalls how he enjoyed taking graphic design classes in high school: “I really liked it, I remember the amazing feeling you get when you do a great job. True, I can't say that I was that good at drawing.”Eight years later, in 2010, for fun, Hertz decided to enroll in a one-year course at Stockholm's Anders Beckman School of Design. “Although by this time I had already formed my own style, it was important for me to get basic knowledge, to understand how everything works. In addition, courses of this kind are a great opportunity to meet like-minded people who have a different skill set. I even collaborated with several guys later."
Some note that his style of work fully reflects the well-known saying Less is more, emphasizing the brevity of the work of the Swedish designer. Hertz himself considers his style to be moderately eclectic - according to him, there is pop culture, the influence of modern art, cinema, music and advertising in it. “I like to rethink well-known themes, play with familiar images, so I rarely start doing something from scratch. My design school instructor once called me a “visual DJ,” well, I agree with that definition,”says Hertz.

Marlene Dietrich and Ernest Hemingway: more than friendship, less than love
The boundaries beyond which friendship between a man and a woman ends and something more begins is very difficult to define. Especially when it comes to creative individuals. Ernest Hemingway called his relationship with Marlene Dietrich "unsynchronized passion": he woke up feelings when she was not free, and vice versa. Their romance lasted almost 30 years - perhaps so long precisely because it remained epistolary (now they would say - virtual). But there was so much passion in these letters that
