Would you like to tame … a volcano? Bring him into the house, carefully put him in the middle of the room, and live side by side with him, not for a minute, however, not forgetting that at any moment this dormant mountain can wake up and explode with fireworks of lights? It sounds scary, but in fact, not everything is as creepy as it might initially seem. Volcano named " The other volcano"is an explosive, but safe installation for the people around. The idea of the project belongs to a French designer Nelly Ben Hayoun … "Domashny Volcano" is, in fact, a ceramic sculpture filled with pyrotechnics. Moreover, the sculpture is high-tech: each The Other Volcano has a wireless connection to the Internet in order to receive information from the "curator" when to explode and how long to snort smoke and spit fires on the parquet, carpet or tabletop. Of course, such a volcano will not take away human victims, but it will significantly disturb the cleanliness and order in the room.
It is known that the project of a home volcano, together with Nelly Ben Hayun, is also being developed by two British specialists: volcanologist Carina Fearnley and pyrotechnician from London Austin Houldsworth. In the future, the working group intends to create not such small, "pocket" volcanoes, but tall sculptures, almost taller than human growth, and they will "spit" not only with fireworks, but also with dust, stones and some viscous substance imitating lava.
By the way, Nelly Ben Hayoun claims that life next to a sleeping volcano, ready to erupt at any moment, is somewhat reminiscent of human relationships. Even after many years of living with a person, you can never be 100% sure that you know all his "cracks", all character traits and hidden abilities …
