A presentation of the Moscow Film Commission was held at the Cannes Film Festival in the Russian Pavilion. Employees of this commission will provide a variety of services: obtaining visas for foreign filming companies, obtaining permission for filming, attracting extras, agreeing on locations for filming, blocking the part of the city where filming is taking place, etc. The Deputy Head of the Department of Culture also said that the Film Commission will offer cinematographers the lowest prices guaranteed. The new organization is being created on the basis of the Department of Culture and Cinema of the city of Moscow, which is responsible for various film projects and the development of cinemas in the Russian capital, and will work under the government of the capital. Filmmakers who wish to shoot in Moscow will first have to submit an application to the Film Commission. After its consideration, this commission will submit an official response, which will indicate the locations where it will be possible to shoot the film or its individual plots. Also, this answer will contain information about production companies that are free to organize filming in Moscow. The creation of such a film commission in Moscow will greatly simplify obtaining permission to shoot a film. Previously, filmmakers had to visit more than thirty different instances to obtain such permission. The organizer of the Cannes Film Festival of the Russian Festival was the Roskino company, which is the official representative of Russian cinema outside the Russian Federation.
