Each of us has a hobby. Someone appreciates the flora and fauna in stamps, someone collects magnets or postcards, someone enjoys photographing unfinished buildings in different cities of various countries, someone repaints their refrigerator every week, and their wife's hair … The hobby of photographer Karl Morris (Carl Morris) was photographing myself, a loved one, but in a very interesting manner.
The dreamer photographer is not that he admired his appearance and snapped himself from all sides from great love - he covered his own face with vinyl covers, and as a result, the faces from the covers seemed to come to life in his photographs.
The process captivated the author so much that he collected a huge collection of photographs and opened a "hobby club" called Sleeveface. This is how it translates from English - "cover face", and anyone can be a member of the club, if he also prefers to shoot with the camera not his own face, but hidden behind the cover from the gramophone record.
By the way, there are more and more fans of this photo style every day. The "Sleeveface" community already numbers more than 20 thousand photo amateurs, with the help of whom it was possible to "revive" the musical idols of the past, and to see modern pop and film artists in a new way. The "Sleeveface" community has its own website where you can already watch "processed" characters and get inspired by ideas for your own photo project. Of course, if there is a desire, a camera and gramophone records.
