The hills have eyes and the trees have faces. Not all trees, no. Only those who have become part of an ecological art project from a creative duo called Zonenkinder … Start The tree project was laid back in 2006-2007 in Germany, the homeland of the art duo. Then "keepers of the forest" trees of German parks, reserves and forest belts became. Today the project covers most of Europe, in particular Germany, France, Denmark, Norway. Keepers of the forest, wood foresters, tree spirits - as soon as they do not name the creatures created by the artists from Zonenkinder. Hidden among the mass of other trees, they do not immediately attract the attention of passers-by, and appear on the way so unexpectedly that it seems as if they were specially waiting for a convenient moment. In order to create another "keeper" in a forest or park, artists carefully examine the "assortment" of trees, and choose the oldest, sometimes half-dried, with signs of aging, or even completely dry, dead hemp, driftwood and logs. It is they who become the newly minted forest spirits, receiving a face from the artists and a few accessories in addition. So to speak, to complete the picture and complete the image.
Depending on the location, shape and color of the selected tree, the artists determine what character can come from it. Only from the nature, which created a tree or a log just like that, its character and appearance after "transformation" depends. The authors of the project say that they immediately see which of the "forest keepers" was born to become a good "spirit", and who is evil, who is cheerful, and who is sad. Or maybe smiling, gloomy, dreamy … Additional accessories like ribbons, beads, scarves, scarves and headbands make these characters even more creative, funny and cute. By the way, the artists never repeat themselves, and among the entire "collective" of wooden forest "keepers" one cannot find two identical images and facial expressions.
The ecological art project The Tree Project, as the artists from the Zonenkinder duo position it, is their way to remind people once again that trees, like all living things around them, also have a soul, feel pain, can hurt and die in the same way. More information about the project is on the Zonenkinder team page.

Bourdieu is best known for his art project "Bodyscapes". The images of the wilderness of Africa, untouched by man, became the backdrop for all the works in the series. According to the author's idea, the painted bodies of nude models, like chameleons, merge with the general landscape or harmoniously complement it
