In this adorable collection by Illinois artist Janet Skiles, the love of animals, both wild and domestic, is evident. Each colorful drawing represents an original understanding of the individual essence of each animal and its creative embodiment.
The artist calls her art "quasi-realism with a bizarre description of pictures of nature." Her drawings are full of intricate details that represent nature in all its amazing beauty.
Janet creates paintings using traditional watercolors and spray paint. Recently, however, the artist has turned to the computer, discovering the limitless possibilities of Photoshop, allowing you to improve existing images or create new ones.
The artist has assembled a collection of more than three thousand images from the life of animals, which she uses as an auxiliary material when creating her own drawings. Janet admits that she draws inspiration from travel and first-hand experiences. "Having the opportunity to touch the tiger's fur or the wet skin of a dolphin, I can then transfer the emotions and feelings I experienced into my drawings, which sometimes cannot be achieved just by looking at photographs."
Janet Skiles' clients include such names as National Geographic, National Wildlife and The Smithsonian Gift Catalog, as well as various gift catalogs. The artist's illustrations also appear in magazines, notebooks, postcards, decorative flags, themed holiday decorations, etc.
Janet believes that the artist in his works always refers to the child sitting in each of us, to our sense of beauty and our belief in miracles. “I hope that my art will make you smile and warm your hearts,” says the artist and, it seems, is not mistaken.

What the ancestors of Homo sapiens looked like: Who could not pass natural selection, and with whom everything is not so simple
The transformation of Australopithecus into a modern type of man did not come true, of course, overnight - the process took hundreds of thousands and even millions of years. Everything happened, as is now known, extremely slowly, and at the first stages of anthropogenesis much longer than at the subsequent ones. Here is what is interesting: in addition to the links in the chain of "transformations" into a Homo sapiens, there were other "relatives" of him - who did not pass the selection, but did not sink into oblivion either. These are kind of "uncles" of modern people, passing

Because it literally shimmers with all the colors of the rainbow, as if someone had poured tons of different colors here and didn't mix them. Getting here is not easy, but worth it. No wonder Caño Cristales was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List
